A drunk man who smelled like beer sat down on a subway seat next to a priest. The man's tie was stained his face was plastered with red lipstick, and a half empty bottle of gin was sticking out of his torn coat pocket. He opened his newspaper and began reading.
After a few minutes the man turned to the priest and asked, "Say, Father, what causes arthritis?"
"My Son, it's caused by loose living, being with cheap, wicked women, too much alcohol and a contempt for your fellow man."
Well, I'll be damned," the drunk muttered, returning to his paper.
The priest, thinking about what he had said, nudged the man and apologized. "I'm very sorry. I didn't mean to come on so strong. How long have you had arthritis?"
"I don't have it, Father. I was just reading here that the Pope does"...:-p

A beautiful day on the west coast. A bunch of us went to Uof Victoria for their plant sale--ha!ha! DS had misread the date in the newspaper and it is next week. She is very efficient so none of the rest of us bothered to check. We are blaming the lack of food she had. She was one of the teacher/supervisors for a fast the high school has with funds gathered going to the Stephen Lewis fund (sorry if the spelling is wrong). We startled a kung fu class as we trooped in to the gymn looking for plants, had a good laugh and then toured the Finnerty Gardens--they were just lovely--and there is no admission fee. It is known as a Spring garden, there are hundreds of Rhodos, but it was so beautiful and peaceful, I am going to add it to my regular walks. We then tried a lovely little place for coffee and it too was a keeper--so it was a lovely day.

The first sail boat arrived and moored in the Bay. Lots of people on the beach--some brave souls have been in swimming--myself I am still in long pants and wearing my hoodie--at what age does that ability to always be warm go? Accckkkkk! I am becoming one of those old ladies who is always cold!!!

Hope you are all keeping warm today, and basking in the sun.

Nikki....sounds like you had a lovely day. I adore rhodos, but can't seem to grow them. LOL about being old and cold....I can relate! I have an afghan in e4very room, just for Mama! :^O

OK...had a baaaaaaad day and needs squishies baaaadly.

Backed into a delivery van whilst taking my DS15 to the doctor at lunch time. Totally blew out my back window and got a ding and broken tail light. Total for my mess: $1,200.

Went to the tree dedication ceremony after school in memory of Nicole. Went through about a roll of TP since Mama ran out of Kleenex. Stepped into the freshly dug hole and sprained my ankle. Trip to the ER for x-rays. Got some wicked painkillers and a very attractive (not) ankle brace. Total for this mess: $80.

Vodka and tomato juice to numb the pain and the memory of this day: $50.

TYping while bbuzzed...priceless.

Oh dear (((((MLM))))) not a good day at all!

How are Nicole's parents doing? That is probably a very silly question. What I meant, is I hope Nicole's parents are okay. How was your DD--I know Nicole had been her closest friend--I still remember how your DD knew she wanted to go over and comfort Nicole's mother.

DS at the doctor? Hope it was just a routine appointment.
