It's really really unfortunate that you guys can't have peace and quiet on this thread. To the point where you're all going somewhere else.

Leader? we have a leader? I guess some people have a need to appoint a leader ... yup! followers need that. The disrespect and the belittling is what bothers me the most. . . and I don't want to hear who started it - everybody just grow up!!!
Daphne, there are days when I get a distinct feeling that we're not wanted on this board - I'm not saying 'we' as me, personally but the Christian thought generally. One thread...ONE THREAD... is all we ask for among thousands of SOMETIMES irrelevant & meaningless threads and we can't even have peace. I get tired of feeling ridiculed and made fun of by people who take cliches & think that's what I am about or the be all & end all of Christianity. By their responses, they don't even really understand my belief so it's written off as fanatical or ridiculous. I don't discuss my beliefs or religion much because as C.S. Lewis says in his book, Mere Christianity - no point in discussing beliefs especially in a secular forum - because we will never agree on the same interpretation then the non-believers just sit back and laugh at us because we can't even agree. From my standpoint - not exactly a good witness and does not lift up nor honor God. There are never ever simple answers - because the next person can always take it deeper or over the top - and if you don't believe that you haven't been to a Bible study - and that's even with everyone from the same church.
Well now, I came on this thread to share and what do I do? Sorry......but here is what I have to share for inspiration and I guess maybe it's timely as well cuz I was ready to give up.
DON'T GIVE UP. . .
One day I decided to quit...
I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality... I wanted to quit my life.
I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.
"God", I asked, "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"
His answer surprised me...
"Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"
"Yes", I replied.
"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them.
I gave them light.
I gave them water.
The fern quickly grew from the earth.
Its brilliant green covered the floor.
Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.
In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.
And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.
In year three, there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit.
In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I still would
not quit.
Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared
to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant...but just 6
months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.
It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.
I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle.
Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots? I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you. Don't compare yourself to others.
The bamboo had a different Purpose than the fern.
Yet they both make the forest beautiful. Your time will come", God said to me. "You will rise high."
"How high should I rise?" I asked.
"How high will the bamboo rise?" He asked in return.
"As high as it can?" I questioned.
"Yes." He said, "Give me glory by rising as high as you can."
I left the forest and brought back this story. I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you.
Never, NeVeR, NEVER Give up.
For the Christian, prayer is not an option, but an opportunity.
