Welcome to a place where Christ should be exalted and "Self" should be abased!!

Welcome to a place where the BIBLE can be discussed rationally, intelligently, and positively without unnecessary argument!!

Welcome to a place where prayer can be requested and encouraged!!

Welcome to a place where positive and encouraging thoughts from scripture can be shared in a caring and loving way!!

Welcome to a place away from all the arguments, recriminations, and negativity of the outside world!!

Welcome to a place of rest and safety!!

Nicki .... backatcha ((((smooooooch)))) - you doing well, I hope?

hi nikki, tob, susan, dove (((love)))

I'm so happy for you to have found a 'place' within a church family. Truly, the blessing is in what you give. Like any family, there are disputes now and then, but I know when it comes down to the crunch, I doubt I can find a better support system. Just a side note ... I mentioned that hubby started coming to church, studying the Bible, & taking part in all that comes with church life ... before this when 'church' friends would invite us, he was always hesitant to accept invitations for 'fear' that they would try to 'convert' him ... anyway, he's gotten over that seeing he's pretty much 'converted' (LOL), when I was in Hawaii - he had no hesitation in accepting these invitations ... he was so fed so well, I doubt he even missed me (well, he did, but at least he didn't lose 10 lbs while I was gone)!!!

I don't know if I've shared this video before. I've come across it before, but I can't remember if I took the time to share it. Nevertheless, it's a relevant message and a facebook friend posted it today I thought I'd share it here. The description says 'a fable about the magic of free parking' ... I say it's the reality of validation - positive validation. Demeaning, ridiculing, name-calling, etc. just doesn't work. We all crave validation ...

Have a great day. YOU are awesome!!!

Interesting text of a sermon I accidently came across while hunting for a quote along the lines of "even a blind dog can dig up a bone"

http://frankentrost.org/2009/03/08/sermon-for-reminiscere-2009-matthew-1521-28/

"It is the inalienable right of a dog to eat the crumbs that fall from the table."

Hey (((Ramona)))!! 🙂 Here I am at this ungodly hour because I fell asleep @ 9 - aaaarggghhh! Been enjoying running to & fro to the other end of the world - hey! I can say that literally!!! I should be around a bit more now that I don't have a time gun to my head and can proscrastinate on 'things that need to be done'. I'll try to catch up on things ...

humbling thought, isn't it, pigdog (do you really want to be referred to that way? 🙂 ) ... is it Paul who says - we are all sinners, of whom I am chief ... and yet we all have that inalienable right to that divine mercy.

Like TOB said ... no coincidence. I have seen coincidence defined as 'those times when God chose to be anonymous'.

And Andrew also posted the lyrics that best describes exercising faith - 'when you can't see His hand - trust His heart'.

Tonight I think of the 3 families lost in that plane crash in Montana - I told hubby they truly need our prayers, or rather the surviving family will - that will be one huge test of faith. Imagine 9 of them from one family - 2 sisters, their husbands & five children. I don't know any of them personally but I know extended families & friends. I just knew it would be too close for comfort when I read they were from the Redlands CA area.

I think I've posted this song before - but it's the song Andrew's lyrics came from - it's very comforting.

Hey Nikki nice to 'see' you!

Haven't chatted with you in soooo long! Just came in from playing with my daughter outside, pretty mild out! (55 right now at almost 6PM = not bad).
Wishing I could have seen Toronto's Blooms and take in all the flowers 🙂

How is it in your neck of the woods? Have a nice day! 🙂

Are you in Toronto TTT? I am. I have a black thumb and a shady yard so I have a perennial garden. It's great over the next two months, to see every thing, well, almost everything, come up.
"Behold, I make all things new again" is a scripture that I always think of in Spring.
I am not sure of where this is in the Bible. Can anyone tell me? Susan

Hello my sisters and brothers,

Hi Christine! It has been awhile since we have chatted--lovely to see you here.

Nice sunny day on the Island--but still cold. I planted some lettuce hoping that I will be able to make lovely fresh salads for our Spring visitors. Also planted some daisy like plants that did very well here last year and bloomed and bloomed until Fall. Tomorrow I hope to rip out the herb garden--the winter was not kind to it--even wiped out the mint.

Our daffodils are blooming and it is so nice to see the bright colors.

Off to take the GSs to A&W--I was away for a short trip, and I have missed them very much. (not A&W though).

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday evening and sweet dreams.

((((Christine))))--I guess DGS missed me too. I actually got a nice hug. He does not like people to touch him, so it was a his gift to me to allow me to hug him, and he hugged back but he held his little body rigid. He really doesn't like being touched, and this Granny likes to hug. I was thankful for his gift, but just a little sad too.

I got another gift today. There was a pastor coming to preach at our church for the Lenten series who I thought I wouldn't get to see because I had a trip planned. I was disappointed because I like him and his family. They lived just a few miles from where we lived in New Jersey. I didn't meet them while I lived there. I didn't go to church then, but I met them last year at my little church. They were pleased to meet someone from "home" because they were new to Canada. We laughed about the fact that the family chose the pew we sit in, and the first parishoners they spoke to were from "home". No co-incidences. However, our trip dates had to be changed and we were here for their visit. We sat beside his wife and daughter who has Downs Syndrome. After the service the daughter turned to me and gave me a huge hug and said, "I love you." I told her I loved her too. The Dad apologized and said although her loving nature was her gift, then were trying to get her to stop hugging people. I told them about DGS, and how much a warm hug means to me now. It made my day. Again, no co-incidences.

Hope this is a blessed week for all.
