Not surprising.

All of the "Horror Stories" about backlogs scared customers away.

I used paypal to send money to my nieces and nephews this year rather than mail parcels.

Might be horror stories.

Might be hyperbole.

The media were doubtful when the union head said that the backup would take a day to clear. Rightfully.

But the same media took it as gospel when management said the backup would take until March to clear.

Uh huh.

Most post offices did not close at all.
Most workers were off for two days or less.

Some plants in the very busy Toronto area were closed, intermittently, for up to five days.

And the Christmas temporary staff were coming on strength. canada post.jpg
