Where are the panhandlers?

I'd give them a buck or two to clear the snow in front of my store.

Re: Where are the panhandlers?

Are you getting pounded with snow Lurk ?

Don't worry the young school kids will be showing up soon with their shovels. We see them all the time, but this big kid still enjoys going out with our dog & clearing snow. Our dog just loves playing in the snow.

Sounds like its going to be an interesting weekend out east.

Wasn't there a big dump out east just six weeks ago ?

Ya we are getting a little snow. I don't mind the snow and plan to take the dog to an off leash park after work, cause he loves it.

We're downtown and don't get kids showing up to offer to shovel snow, but we get adults begging for money along the street in the nice weather.

Re: Where are the panhandlers?

A buck or two? It would take about an hour to do good job in front of your store. Min wage is 9.50 per hour. Come'on dig deeper.

Actually it's been a long time since I seen any of them use a pan. That's how bad the economy is, panhandlers can't even afford a decent pan. It's probably not deductable anyhow.

Or.........you could go out and do it yourself. I just did mine this morning. Had my black Shepherds with me and now their white. It's good for you, gives you rosy cheeks.

Time for a couple of shots of rum (Newfie anti-freeze), to warm up.

An hour to clear !!!  How much snow have you received so far ?

Just heard on the radio, tons of eastern flights are being cancelled in & out of Winnipeg. Jets are in Ottawa tommorow, i guess they got out.

I guess the Leafs got out of town last night also after beating the Jets. Great game !

Re: Where are the panhandlers?

Up where I am on flat ground it's about a foot, but I have 5 ft drifts in some areas.

I seen this coming so I stocked up on some food and rum. I'm good till spring if need be.

Are you serious?

It takes me less than two minutes.

A buck or two for two minutes work is pretty good especially when you consider they are not doing anything worthwhile to begin with.

Yep Christmas 2013. You missed a whole year!

Harper was run out of government and replaced with the marijuana party. Canada is now the happiest nation on the planet. Ebay was bought out by the Salvation Army and now everything is free. All countries got together and war has been banned. Henceforth all disagreements will be settled with a custer pie fight followed by drinks at the closest pub.

Ah Ingersoll. We had another name for that town.....that can't be repeated. Use to know a tattoo artist there and bought all his equipment. Darn if I can remember his name now!

Re: Where are the panhandlers?

I am north of London.  We have about a foot of snow and it's still coming down heavily.

For over 20 years a neighbour cleared our driveway with his plow.  He passed away last fall and we haven't got around to buying a snow blower yet.  We wouldn't have needed it last year.  DH had a knee replacement last month so guess who gets to clear the snow....and I have to go out today...groan.

Actually other neighbours have been very good and have shovelled our driveway a few times.  I think they are returning favours for things DH has done for them in the past.  At any rate, it's great having good neighbours.
