Yep Christmas 2013. You missed a whole year!
Harper was run out of government and replaced with the marijuana party. Canada is now the happiest nation on the planet. Ebay was bought out by the Salvation Army and now everything is free. All countries got together and war has been banned. Henceforth all disagreements will be settled with a custer pie fight followed by drinks at the closest pub.

True good neighbors are worth their weight in gold. I have a tractor with a loader but I have a neighbor with John Deere and a 9 ft blower and on a realllllly bad day he will come by early in the morning and do my driveway as well as other neighbors in the area, unrequested, and blow the snow 40ft out in the field. Two passes down a 150 ft driveway and it's done....10 min tops. Last year he only had to do the driveway once......and he actually looked rather disappointed about it.

I shovelled snow for close to 2 hours and didn't get to the end of the driveway. I climbed knee deep through snow to retrieve the recycle box and garbage bucket.
The snow plow didn't get down our street until about 5:30 p.m. A neighbour across the street came home and his car, on the street, was up to the bumper in snow. Most of the neighbours were at work or cleaning out their own driveways so I didn't expect them to do mine. I have a feeling though that some good samaritan will come along and finish it up for me.
The mail will go out tomorrow instead of today. Oh well.

This morning the organizers of the Lift lock Hockey Tournament asked for volunteers to shovel off the snow at the rinks created at the Lift Lock for the activities taking place there this afternoon. By Noon apparently there were a dozen or so Knowing this city many more arrived to help out
The above article describes in part what they were doing
“It couldn't have been a better illustration of what the game is all about,” said former NHL star Lanny McDonald, undeterred by the weather as he skated with youngsters on the Liftlock Canal Friday afternoon. Volunteers skated behind the players clearing snow as it fell.
The snow also did not deter people from attending other events related to the Stanley Cup Coming to Peterborough
Public transportation ran here until 3:30 or so then they cancelled it for the day
When I lived in Haliburton in the 70's we used to Volunteer to Clear off roofs of cottages around us
Most winters there was alot of snow Many cottages were under the risk of having their roofs collapse if not done
never minded doing it at all It was a great way to spend a day and we had alot of fun doing so. Often what should have taken a 1/2 hour to an hour to do would take 2 or 3 hours We spent an awful lot of time digging the snow out from others and watching them fall off the roof into snowdrifts. (Never a worry of being hurt the snow on the ground was substantial) We would climb back up and then it was payback time

HA you guys want snow issues .. My house comes with 2 acres clear cut .. 2 weeks ago I got off work nightshift and my driveway had 4 ft of snow between the snow falling and the snow drifts ... My driveway is about 1km half circle ..
14hrs shift followed by 5 hrs of showvelling and snow blowing ....
I would pay someone to do but nobody will do it for less then $30 because it is a massive driveway

I have been out much of the day cleaning the handicap parking spaces in our apartment complex. For some reason, they are not included in the snow removal contract. We have had over a foot of snow and it is really wet and hard to shovel.
Before I sold my house, we lived in a small town. My house and garage backed on a large farmer's field to the west. When it was snowing and windy, it would blow around the house and gargae and accumulate in large drifts. I sometimes had drifts as high as the top of the garage door and 20 feet out from the garage into the driveway. I kept saying I would buy a snow blower next year - then the next year we would have very little snow. In 28 years, I never bought one. Wore out a lot of shovels.

A buck or two? It would take about an hour to do good job in front of your store. Min wage is 9.50 per hour. Come'on dig deeper
hmmm--thought you lived in Ontario and owned a business?
I would think that anybody that actually owned a business would know that minimum wage in Ontario is $10.25 an hour!

that minimum wage in Ontario is $10.25 an hour!
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!.
Don't tell his employees.

I was out on my number. I suppose that's because I've never paid min wage. All my employees make twice and more, so it was really of no interest to me what some employers pay in order to pay the least they can. Min wage is just the governments way of making employers pay a semi-decent wage rather then the slave wage they would like to pay if they could get away with it.

"All my employees make twice and more,"
That would be $20.50+ per hour.
I am not sure why but, quite frankly, I find it difficult to believe.
Just another unnecessary little "white lie"...
Why bother?

By the way, while on subject of wages, does anyone know what the current average hourly wage is in Ontario?
$24.27 is the correct answer
Did you know that the average unionized worker receives $28.52 while the non-unionized workers gets only $22.53
Were you aware that a worker 55 year old and over make a bit less on average than a worker aged 25 to 54? So much for paying for experience! 😞
Younger workers (15 to 24) make only half as much! (average $12.85)
It only takes a few minutes to get factual information;

"The lowest paid is 22.50 and the highest paid is 33.20. The others average about 24.50. Summer part time students make 12.50 to 14.00 per hour"
WOW !
A few years ago, when discussing the pending bankruptcy of General Motors and Chrysler, you kept insisting that the wages/benefits package demanded by auto workers ($30/$40 hour) were fair and suggested or implied that as a fair employer you were paying as much.
There was little credibility at the time and your post today proves it. Thank you. 🙂

At least I have employees who are being paid good wages and benefiting their families and paying taxes and helping the economy.
At least that is what you tell us. I guess we have to take your word for it.
Show me where I said that. You've invented things up in the past.
The pot calling the kettle black.
in your mind....... for your present agenda.
From someone whose agenda seems to be based on hate, not much of a criticism.
