Hi Maureen,

The online course takes between 3-6 hours to complete. Once you are ready to train, the course takes about 6 hours if conducting in a hands-on setting.

I took the course myself and found it was laid out very well with great content and fun tips. I really liked the way it was integrated with some live demos. It really kept my interset and I found I flew right through the material.

Once completed, are you expected to begin classes right away, or is it up to the individual to decide when the time is right.

Hi Maureen,
It's up to the individual as to when he/she wants to start teaching. Many instructors choose to start with 1-on-1 training events with family and/or friends. Then, as they gain more confidence and experience, they will start working with small group sessions. Some of the instructors have now even gone on to teach large scale gatherings of 70+ people.

I'm assuming this is an online course exclusively...am I right?

In this 3 to 6 hour format, is instruction time scheduled to specific times, or is it an "at your own pace" format?

Hi vintagemodo,

YOu can start teaching as soon as you feel comfortable. If you are doing a smaller venue, you can plan them and execute them in a short time period. If you are going to do a larger venue, you might want to plan it out a couple months in advance so you can get it all organized.

The bigger the event, the more start up time you need. All of this is covered in the course as well. It talks about what kinds of set ups need what kind of ramp-up time and equipment/considerations.

Am I right in also assuming that the venue to hold a class can be as formal or as informal as the individual instructor wishes, depending, of course, on the class size or type of people you are instructing...ie: friends, family, or strangers.

Yes Maureen, that's correct.

A few factors that determine setup include: How many people, is it going to be hands-on, etc.

Depending on these factors, you may need mutiple computers, a projector, tables, internet connector..or...just a computer and two chairs.

Nothing like being in front of a group of 500 people to get your presentation skills up and going! A bit stressful though...

I think starting small is a great idea. In fact, if you have leverage community facilities like a library or a local school, it would be a great way to catch passerby traffic and have an inexpensive place to teach that would have computers for folks to work on.

Maureen, that's the way I plan on doing classes to begin with.
I'm hoping to have larger classes in the fall. I need the time to find a site, and advertise, etc. For now, I am doing it my home office. There are 3 computers, so I would have to limit myself to 6 students at a time. Or 1 on 1 would be great too.
