Yes, you can certainly report posts that have contact information.

You can find a link to report posts on the Want It Now policy page: http://pages.ebay.ca/help/policies/everyone-win.html.

For posts with contact information, you would report it as a listing policy violation.

Here’s another Want It Now tip:

Anyone can respond to a Want It Now post – you do not have to be the seller of the item to respond to a Want It Now post. Oftentimes, more experienced members are more efficient at finding items on eBay. Some Want It Now posts may be for items that are already listed on eBay -- by allowing anyone to respond to a Want It Now post, this enables members to help each other locate hard-to-find items that are already listed on eBay.

Hi .CA Community,

For Sellers who are looking into WIN selling opportunities, they should visit both the .CA and .COM WIN boards as WIN postings on the .CA site does not show up on the .COM site and vice versa.

For Canadian Buyers who don't mind getting the item from the US, they should try posting to .CA and .COM WIN boards.

Sorry I missed the discussion.
The 3 items I sold were clothing items.
One of them was a woman looking for a certain type dress the did not leave a WIN ,but just used the search and found something I had responded too .The responces show up with pictures for all to see.
It's great!!!!!

I have to say that I am not too impressed with WIN. I posted a request on January 18, and I haven't had one response. It is posted under my other id k_moore76. I was very specific and gave as many details as possible. I tried looking on eBay for the item, but no such luck. I even said in the ad if someone could point me in the right direction, I'd be very appreciative. What else should I have added to my request to get a response?

Kim - I don't even bother looking because there are sooooooooooo many listings. I spend enough time on here already, and it takes to long to go through the items, unless you sell only 1 item.

Some people don't even know it exists.

These are things I find in Sports Cards.

It lists the potential buyers feedback rating but there is no way to check them out as there is no ID's.

Too many people trying to sell items.

Too many listings have no meaning, for example. Want tops cards 1978-1979, It don't tell you what sports it is from or card numbers.

Too many jokers want everything for nothing.

I haven't had much time to go through the WIN section of ebay, but I did try to post to it. It would not allow me because I have only made four purchases and, unfortunately, am not a seller...or something like that. I think this is rather silly and unfair. There aren't many items that I need or want, or flat out can't afford (I'm on maternity leave with a five-month-old).
However, my husband and I are looking for a platform bed frame in our local area for a reasonable cost, and I can't seem to find any for sale (under $1,000 USD). I tried to place such a post being as specific as possible, but no can do.
I think this policy needs to be changed.

Thanks for letting me voice my opinion.

ATTENTION EBAY! Just a NOTE!!

On the eBay.ca WIN site, the "Cars, Parts & Vehicles" (the "Ebay Motors" equivalent) category does not work!

Take a look for yourself:
http://wantitnow-search-desc.ebay.ca/_W0QQsacategoryZ6000

There are NO listings in there, and I have posted one myself. After posting my ad, I clicked the "View your post" button and it took me to a page saying my post did not exist. However, I am able to find it, as well as 16,000 others on the eBay.COM site.

I have emailed eBay about this, but the person who responed decided not to read my email and replied with a generic newbie tutorial on how to use WIN *rolleyes*

Note: Although on the .CA site it calls the category "Cars, Parts & Vehicles", the category says "Automotive".

Maybe this was all overlooked because of the whole "eBay Motors" category when the .CA version was made from the .COM version.

Thanks 😉

I am relatively unexperienced with ebay, but the link to "want it now" should appear on the user's "my ebay" page and not just the ebay home page. I never look at the home page of ebay.ca much, but rather sign in to "my ebay" and use the search feature to find any items I am looking for. For that matter, why not put a link to the "want it now" page on the advanced search page as well, with a suggestion as to when buyers should use it (i.e. AFTER searching for the item). People won't likely use "want it now" if they can't find it.
