You do understand this goes beyond eBay...this taxation process also applies to other marketplace facilitators, just as did the USA "internet sales tax"... This is sales taxes applied to buyer's purchases = Canadian buyers pay the sales taxes,  just as USA buyers pay their state's sales tax on any online purchases no matter whether they are purchased from within the USA or from Canada....

A repeat of 3 years ago, when USA implemented their "internet sales taxation". Sellers took aim and blamed eBay. It got to the point of the ridiculous!

An amazing number of people apparently have either not shopped since the late 1950s. Ontario sales tax was introduced in 1961 and at that ON was the eighth province to collect it

And used goods have been taxed since the beginning.

The GSP was a change, because it also taxes services, not just goods.

I am old and cranky, but my Google -fu is functioning just fine.
