Today, I noticed in the sales list of my account that eBay applied an offer (SPENDSAVEGREEN) , which caused a $10 reduction in the price of my product. My question is, why was this done without my approval? And will this amount be deducted from eBay's fee or from my money?

Just spotted that today too on some of my listings. (Most likely based on items value to qualify.) There was no heads up on the specifics. Attached is an eBay link I could find. Still scanning its details.
https://pages.ebay.ca/spendsavegreen/
More info from Redflagdeals on the offer but only buyers perspective.

I'm curious about this too! I just had a buyer message me that she was trying to pay but she couldn't apply "her coupon" and eBay said to retry in 24 hours. I'm not sure if that is the same coupon but I'm thinking maybe it is. I have five unpaid items, which is more than usual and I can't help but wonder if that is the reason they haven't paid either.
Thanks lotz for posting the link, I didn't even know about the coupon and it looks like every possible category is covered and anyone spending more than $35 can get a coupon. I'll post more if I find out through any of my items.

I'm pretty sure if we think back in our memory banks, however good or bad they may be, that in the past we used to from time to time see offers from eBay. We would sign up for them if they met our needs or we could put to use. They would then show up as being active on our hub page. They could come in the form of an eBay message and then also to our general email systems. Over the last few years I can vaguely remember seeing or getting any. Now when/if they may show up it's erraticly possibly on a landing page. But couldn't be seen anywhere else. Seems to be the new normal.
Now when they do appear there is no guarantee they will work. It's not like Canadian sellers are able to offer coupons to their buyers at their discretion. Yes, we've asked when this is coming but all we've gotten is crickets.
As per Red Flag:
This Coupon is valid from September 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM ET until September 20, 2024 at 11:59 PM ET. The “Discount” means the amount saved per transaction: Key item: 1 Transaction
Coupon can be used once per eBay account within a single transaction (or cart), while supplies last. Only registered eBay members with an address located in Canada can receive the discount. Any unused difference between the discount amount, as shown on the Coupon, and the purchase price of an item(s) in a single transaction (or cart) will be forfeited.
As you @msau4301 noted any issues could have something to do with how hinky the cart can be at any given time. Sady clarification will take some time. Hopefully before the promotion ends Sept 20, 2024?

In looking closer at details on One flag (format is much better than link I found via Google & ebay) I did spot this:
Only eligible for item conditions equal to Certified refurbished, Excellent refurbished, Very Good refurbished, Good refurbished, Used, Seller refurbished, Very good, For parts not working, Like new, Acceptable and Good. Are those US options only???
From my recent experience refurbished has been a nightmare because of what is or isn't allowed. I listed using refurbished years ago with good success. With listing now I have never had access or spotted those choices.

Their description of items made me think it must be for everyone/everything:
"Eligible item(s) include those purchased from the following categories:
Parts & Accessories
Toys & Hobbies
Sports Mem, Cards & Fan Shop (excluding Autographs-original)
Stamps
Clothing, Shoes & Accessories
Jewelry & Watches
Consumer Electronics
Portable Audio & Headphones
Computers/Tablets & Networking
Small Kitchen Appliances
Cell Phones & Accessories
Vacuum Cleaners, Parts & Accessories
Video Games & Consoles
Cameras & Photo
Music
Collectibles
Home & Garden
Pottery & Glass
Pet Supplies
Movies & TV
Sporting Goods
Dolls and Bears."
What's missing?? That along with "Used" being part of the eligibility:
Only eligible for item conditions equal to Certified refurbished, Excellent refurbished, Very Good refurbished, Good refurbished, Used, Seller refurbished, Very good, For parts not working, Like new, Acceptable and Good.
I think it for Canada only, my buyer who is waiting to re-try her coupon is in Canada, as are my other outstanding items. The US buyers have paid (coincidence maybe?!)
I do remember the promos and have used coupons in the past several times (as well as the eBucks!) and I always assumed eBay took the hit for the discount but have never been on the other end to see how it works.

In the box at the top of the page they specify 'pre owned items' which to me is another word for used.
Yes, eBay covers the discount, not eBay.
The coupon is for buyers with Canadian addresses. The purchase can be on eBay in Canada (French and English versions) and for items on .com.

Thank you, that is what I thought, I just wondered how/where the original poster saw it on his sales summary, I didn't think we saw any of the payment details (even coupons?) on our end, just that payment had been made.
hostedadvantage, where did you see the reduction you mention?

Should the end part actually read "not the seller"?

FWIW, we've seen a good jump in sales due to coupons being applied automatically. We haven't had to take a loss on anything and receive the amount asked in our listings. EBay seems to cover the discount when a customer uses the coupon. Could be wrong, but at first glance everything seems to be normal, just been getting a boost in sales the past couple weeks.
