So I went to check my messages a few mins ago, which I have 43 unread. The first time it took me to a page saying the page I'm looking for doesn't exist and now when I click on messages it just takes me back to the home screen. I'm using the website not the app. Is anyone else having this problem? Or is it just me?!
I remember seeing similar issues years ago on this forum and I would be very surprised if in fact they have not fixed it 3 years later!

If you are using a mobile browser, try using the eBay app or else request the desktop site version of the page with your mobile browser. Or try another browser.

If you are already using a desktop browser, try a different browser or a different link such as this link to messages from members:

https://mesg.ebay.ca/mesgweb/ViewMessages/0/m2m

If all else fails, try reading your messages on ebay.com instead of ebay.ca.
