Hey guys!
So i'm a bit confused right now with the new tariffs from Chinese made goods. I sell video game consoles that are rather old (8-30+ years old) that were originally manufactured in China. What i'm wondering is this :
If i ship a USED console that was made in china to a US buyer, will they have to pay the 100% tariffs or are items under a certain amount (800$ de minis?) exempt from said tariffs?
I've asked Canada Post, Chit Chat & Ebay and had all kinds of missleading answers.
If someone knows anything about this and could add proof to their answers. It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

The general understanding is that the de minimis no longer exists for items that were made in China. It doesn't matter whether the items are new or used. Your buyers will likely be hit with a minimum of $100 tariff, and it could be much higher depending on the value of the console.
The good news is there should still be a strong market for the consoles within Canada.

The American buyer will get wacked over the head with current tariff rate / penalty.
Used or new does not matter. The de minimus for Chinese products is now $0 not $800.
Best to avoid sales to the USA of China made products for the next couple of months until things settle down.
