Howdy everyone -
Can you believe January is half over already? After a whirlwind weekend of sleeping late, eating poorly and housecleaning, I'm back and ready to address your questions.
I'll be by tomorrow afternoon to get you answers, so leave a question below and we'll chat then!

Hi Tyler!
I'm one of the unfortunate few who have not yet received their ebay store coupon.
A reminder that my store is a store on .COM in US$ which I am sure is not helping things.
I can see the $150 US$ coupon on the .COM side (which I of course cannot use) but nothing is visible anywhere on the .CA side.
Normally I get a message advising of the coupon, have not received that yet either.
Normally I use the code I get from the email message.
There are more things included in this thread about suggestions others have made that so far have been unsuccessful.

Hello Tyler,
Happy 2019. Couple of quick questions hopefully.
1. When issues are brought up on the various discussion boards(dot ca or com) does eBay have people monitoring those concerns and is being proactive into digging into them deeper? Or are you/happy and et al a filter for these problems?
2. When a generic search is done by a buyer and they select by shipping, what shipping option gets displayed when a seller makes several options available? Afraid this could be something scaring away potential buyers if highest were to show up first.
Have been noticing lately on my listings (randomly) the highest often is the one that displays. They don't see the other options until they click. One looky-loo was not aware they could see the other available options. When I create a listing I choose slowest to fastest. Should they also display the same way on a search? They don't always show in the same order as the created listing. Believe they used to.
Thanks,
Lotz

I've been having issues with the site as of recently, and I think it's worth someone having a look at.
When I go to my Business Policies, I often edit them to streamline them after 10+ years of casual selling, now that I have a store and am doing this on a semi regular yet part time basis. When I adjust my policies the worst always happens. They fail and I end up with copies of copies of copies of policies trying to get them to all be the same. Plus, on some of my policies I can NEVER get it to check mark Russian Federation in my exclusions. My three countries I ship to are Canada, US and UK. But it always won't let me leave Russia checked.
In the eBay App when I list, it constantly is misbehaving. If my WiFi is a little slow, I often get XML Parse errors when the app tries to upload photos. When I try to check boxes for condition, features etc., I check a box and a second later it unchecks itself. Sometimes I have to check it multiple times. I suspect the eBay app is heavily dependent on a fast reliable internet connection. If it doesn't get that, it glitches. It's annoying as it's easier to take photos on the phone, create the basic listing and check boxes using the phone, crop photos, then move to my Tablet Convertible to add text and shipping terms. The other long standing bug in the eBay app is that it is hit or miss when it comes to using LTE Data when I am abroad. When it refuses to load, I pull up Chrome and eBay loads instantly and I can use that. However, the web version isn't as quick nor easy to navigate, as I'm often in the field trying to determine market prices for items I'm considering to put on the platform.
I really think eBay should allocate some budget (like 2,085 hours) and get someone to really overhaul the Android and iOS versions of the app. Please stop pushing new features and just fix it. I know on the US boards there have been complaints about it forever.

Follow up on question 2.
System, when it sends an invoice appears to be only sending one option choice to buyer for shipping. Am only able to add additional options if a buyer were to request a new invoice. In ancient history the seller also got a copy of the invoice. This stopped somewhere a long the way. Does not seem to be any way to bring this option back. Shouldn't all options display?

Search should show the first option that you listed. I have noticed that the odd time that it does seem to be skewed though. If you click on revise for item 401681483740, which option shows first on the sell your item form (not on the listing itself) for the US...tracked packet or small packet?

It could possibly be because when this new set of rates was implemented it's not showing the small packet air option on some listings and now only showing US tracked.

What is Ebay's seller protection policy in a case where the buyer was given a full refund and return shipping funds but refused to return the item?
01-16-2019 12:56 PM
Never refund until the purchased item has been received back from the buyer.
Buyer has the item... and the refund... and the cost of return postage...

Hi @ricarmic - that's unusual, thanks for the heads up on this. I've gotten it reported (you should definitely have gotten a CAD version of the coupon).
I'm looking into this further and will keep you posted as I hear back!

1. The answer to this depends on the specific boards or topics involved. Many eBay folks peruse the board for insight. Some occasionally work with us to post topics looking for feedback or suggestions. However, Happy and I are the ones that are meant to be here regularly. Same for the team on .com (Brian, Trinton, myself, Alan and Doug).
We take your feedback, suggestions, pain points, and popular topics of discussion and report on it weekly (both .com and .ca). These reports are sent to product teams, upper management and any other relevent stakeholders. From personal experience I can tell you they're taken very seriously, and drive change.
2. Sorting by shipping should be defaulting to the first shipping method you input. If you're seeing something different will you let me know? I'm not aware of any changes, but am happy to look into some specifics if you'll shoot me a private message!

Hi @retroman_studios - Business policies are so helpful, but when they start to go wonky they go all in, sorry that this is such a headache!
The copies on copies on copies is a known issue and something that I've been told is being worked on. The exclusion issue is new to me, and I want to look into it further. Will you send me a PM with an example policy name so I can dig in and get it reported?
Feedback on the App is good - I'll get it to the devs. Thanks!

Hmmm... @lotzofuniquegoodies - you should still be able to send a copy of the invoice to yourself (should be a checkbox in the lower left hand corner). I'm not able to administratively view sent invoices, so if you have one that needs to be sent will you PM me the item number so I can hop in and grab some screenshots if you're not seeing that?
Shipping options should pull in your first shipping option, with your ability to alter that to any of the shipping methods you made available in the listing. The idea being that if you need to send an invoice, that would typically mean that you and the buyer have already discussed shipping and you need to set a particular service and cost. If you're wanting to send an invoice with multiple shipping services, can you let me know why this works better for your business than the regular checkout flow? I'll want to get that input in any suggestions I make to the product teams.

Hi @diver_mike52 - this is a situation that doesn't typically happen without involving the seller beforehand. The most common scenario for this to occur is if we are asked to step into a return and ask you to provide a return shipping method for the buyer to get your item back to you.
If no method is provided there is a possibility that we will provide the buyer a full refund without requiring the return. However, we should always advise that's something that will occur, and allow you time to provide a return method (usually up to 5 business days).
Our customer service teams are able to review any situation in depth with you if you'd like to reach out to them. They're available by phone or social media (Twitter or Facebook), and happy to help!
