Uploading Information to managed payments

Been trying for months to upload my Business number to managed payments and spoke to so many agents and nobody knows anything! The system takes only 9 numbers my business number is 10

With the area code, all phone numbers are ten digits.

Are you putting in hyphens between the parts?

Is it required to enter your business number?  I haven't heard anything about from anyone else.  I am guessing that the number they are asking for is something just for Americans and that there number is just 9 digits.

Canadians aren't required to enter their social insurance numbers or the alternative number that they ask for.

Now you can confrim whether the Business Number is required.....

The answer is .... NO

I did not have to add my Business Number when I registered for Managed Payments....

In my day job, whenever there's a reference to a seller's "business number", it is their GST number.  A GST number is 9 digits.  Is that what they are asking?

The number for a business is the same as the number for GST/HST collection.

It all has to deal with the Canada Revenue Agency

The first part of my business number is nine digits.....

When signing up for MP the US they require a social security number or a type of business number.  Canadians aren't required to do so.

Sorry, I thought you were talking about the telephone number for your business.

I never occured to me that the "number" was your tax number.

Is the layout on the form you are filling out such that the telephone number would be the most obvious thing to give?

Too many people think designing forms is an easy job. It's really a very specialized art.
