2% extortion

If a landlord went to your brick and mortar store and insisted on an additional 2% on your sales or they would ruin your business, what would that be?  I was asked to offer up the 2% but refused to do so. My listing impressions plumetted from over a million to 250000 and were still dropping, when I gave in.  After offering up another fee, the heat lifted and now I am at 450000 and climbing. Is this not what Websters would describe as classic extortion?  Please do not say that I was warned, because that does not make it right. Just saying.....

That's a lot of impressions for only 40 sales since June 21.

Maybe impressions, and views, and even watchers are irrelevant to sales.

The question is did your sales drop off compared to sales in the same period of 2019 and 2018.

Because of the pandemic surge in online buying comps for 2020 and 2021 can be very misleading.

The sudden drop in online shopping in 2022 has AZ back to  its usual money losing situation.

Another question would be why are you getting views but not sales? Is there something about your listings that is turning customers off?

I suspect a lot of my potential customers don't like buying from a foreign country, or find my shipping costs to be higher than they like. I can live with that. YMMV.

Well did not actually address the question but thanks.  And the low sales seem to support my beef about having hundreds of my listings made unavailable because I only paid 1%

Aha! -- Did you notice that during the "transition" period that any listings that had only 1% as a PL fee were made invisible?

I didn't until I was doing a check for duplicated listings, another thing that eBay refuses to admit has been an ongoing problem since forever.

So I had about a quarter of my listings with PL. New listings were with the 2% (or none). No problem.

Older listings, that still had only 1% were not being shown to customers.  Even if they were specifically being Searched. A lot of my items are one of a kind or scarce (not in high demand scarce, just not easy to find).

I still run across one or two when I do a survey.  Some get changed to 2% and some have the PL removed entirely.
