Thanks for posting - although not sure one needs to be aware of all the parties one isn't invited too!

I think it is important for all sellers to understand eBay's motives here.
Until last Spring, I would often list large face lots ($5,000 or $10,000) on eBay. However, once eBay changed the fee structure to a flat percentage with a higher cap, it no longer made sense to offer those large lots. I miss the "gold old days" when we would pay 1% or 1.25% for values over $1,000.
I suspect eBay has lost a lot of higher price listings with their new fee policy. These two promotions are an attempt to regain some of those listings. I expect the attempt will fail. Too little too late.

sounds logical to me...

Looks like it only applies to listings on Ebay.com. Wonder how expensive a item would have to be to make it worthwhile?

eBay would charge FVF of $200 (10%) for a $2,000 items in most categories if the seller does not have a store and $180 (9%) if the seller has a store.
Offering a cap of $100 or $150 on FVF may bring a few more listings to eBay although I suspect the majority of sellers affected have found other venues to sell their high priced products..
