Being Charged Store Subscription Fees Twice

Hello,

My last store subscription fee was for April 16 to May 15, and was paid in full as always. I just received new charges which should be for May 16 to June 15, but instead have two new charges, for May 1 to May 15 $11.48, and for May 16 to June 15 $22.94. They're overcharging me for half a month, why? I am on a yearly subscription, and it just renewed on May 1. Just wondering why I am being charged for May 1 to May 15 when I already paid until May 15. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you.

Re: Being Charged Store Subscription Fees Twice

I had something similar happen to me and it was the 1st invoice after my store subscription renewed.  Is there a credit somewhere on the invoice off setting the May 1 to May 15 charge?  I had to get  some ebay staff to help me out to understand what happened but check to see if there are any credits on your invoice

Store fees increased on ebay.com, it was announced as part of the Spring Seller update. Canadian store subscriptions will be affected soon as well.

Re: Being Charged Store Subscription Fees Twice

Was your store opened on .cm or .ca?  Even if it was on .com, I don’t think a store fee increase explains the extra charge as the store subscription fee did not increase by 50%.

Re: Being Charged Store Subscription Fees Twice

According to the link attached that is still working it is not showing an increase as of yet. You may want to call eBay and ask for an explanation for the 2 charges. Even if the charge was pro-rated for the increase that amount does not sound correct. I am not a lawyer but in past experiences with contracts that I have signed for a term period, normally any increase should come into affect until til after the term has ended. (It's like you have locked in for a special rate). That point does not seem to register with eBay. It's the same as if you try to leave a contract in the middle, you would be responsible for any penalties. See 3rd link according to their terms and conditions, they were last revised May 1, 2013. It appears they have now created a back door so they would be covered during this eventual price increase so it would apply to all store subscriptions going forward.

Re: Being Charged Store Subscription Fees Twice

Trying to figure out my billing as well.

Downgraded my premium store to basic store on May 2 and knew I would pay an early cancellation or downgrade fee.

On my May 15th bill, I am being charged a downgrade fee which I expected but they are also billing me for my premium store from May 16th to June 15th.

I have a call into Ebay and of course they have no idea at this point and asked me to wait 48 to 72 hours to look into why.

Biggest problem I see is they bill in advance but billing is mid month and store runs calendar month which is absolutely dumb. If we mirror the US and now are billed by Canada so tax is paid, billing should also be on the 1st.

Any one else downgraded and been able to figure out their billing?

Re: Being Charged Store Subscription Fees Twice

edubb101 you are right, there was a credit on May 1 for the $11.48, I never thought to look for a credit. Thanks so much everyone for your help!
