Buyer says they can't pay through PayPal because we are a charity

So, we received the following message after a buyer purchased an item:

"Is there a chance I could pay another PayPal account please. As I know i will not be able to send money to a charity account."

We've been at this for a long time and this is the first time I've heard anything like this. I have sent them a message back asking why, but they haven't responded. I couldn't find any reason when searching the internet. Anyone have any idea why this might be?

Re: Buyer says they can't pay through PayPal because we are a charity

Perhaps they will not pay to a charity whose premise they disagree with? Weirder things happen.

There are no Blocks against charities holding Paypal accounts or any other form of payment processing.

Politely inform them that you are a registered charity (if you are) even giving your registration number  if you want, but that Paypal is the only form of payment that you can accept.

Then ask if they wish to cancel the purchase.

If they agree, cancel, and add them to your Blocked Bidder List as time-wasters.

Not every sale is worth having. This is too high-maintenance, you will waste time on her and time is money.

They got back to me...

Turns out that in Singapore you can't donate to any foreign charity:

"Singaporeans will no longer be able to use PayPal to donate to foreign-registered charities and non-profit organisations (NPOs)"

So that was the reason.
