I sent a $35 cosmetic (liquid eye serum) to a buyer that arrived damaged (I think it just leaked). The item was packed well, but loose inside the manufacturers box which caused the lid to get loosened during shipment.
This is the first time something I've sold has arrived damaged. I am guessing I'll have to refund via snad, despite the fact that it's still very usable?
Can you still file a claim with an untracked package for damage? If so, does it matter that the buyer is claiming I packed the item poorly, even though it was in a box with paper and bubble wrap? Also, can this buyer leave me bad feedback saying I packaged the item poorly?

Canada Post does not have insurance with small packet. The only way you could file a claim was if you had purchased insurance from a third party insurer such as Shipsurance.
Also, can this buyer leave me bad feedback saying I packaged the item poorly?
Yes. They are allowed to leave their opinion of the transaction.
