Canada Post shows item picked up 4 business days ago but eBay says not yet delivered

Item was shipped out and a "left for pickup" at post office card was left after a delivery attempt. It was eventually picked up on Monday the 9th by the buyer, and now it is Thursday and eBay still says it has not been delivered and thus is holding my payment.

Is this typical? is there any way to get the status to update? 

eBays new payments system is extremely slow and frustrating compared to using PayPal in the past.

To be fair it's really only been two business days, Tuesday and Wednesday.

I have no need to ever check what eBay is showing or not showing for any tracking but I do understand your situation as a new/infrequent seller.

I have read a few  complaints, mostly on .com but some in Canada as well that eBay is very slow to update their tracking information.

Unfortunately eBay outsourced the entire shipping stuff to Pitney-Bowes almost 20 years ago, PB simply isn't very good, maybe more tech challenged than eBay itself.

If it's showing "delivered" at Canada Post it should update on eBay  today or tomorrow. If it doesn't and the money is significant you can contact them for a manual update.

For most of the small and steady sellers, Managed Payments is working well, I have had zero problems and the speed is much improved this year. For some the slowness is related to the bank account being used, my payouts are in my bank account (Simplii) within 8 hours of the payout notice.

Your issue isn't related to MP at all, if you were still able to use PayPal the new/infrequent seller holds would be no different (the hold is placed by eBay not PayPal and only eBay can release the funds).

As @recped said your issue has nothing to do with MP (ebay's new payment system).

I have an expedited parcel delivered May 4, and eBay's tracking system still says "out for delivery" lol. If you are worried, you could always just go to Canada Post's website and save a PDF record of the "Delivered" status.

I didn't mean to imply the payment system was the cause of this problem, just that it adds additional delay on top of slow tracking delivery updates = long time to get paid.

You could change your transfer timing from the default weekly (on Tuesdays) to daily which might help speed things up.

But it could also be an annoyance to have tiny payments being moved occasionally instead of larger amounts weekly.
I noticed one small occasional seller who was using the monthly transfer, which would drive me crazy, but she seemed happy with it.

The OP's issue has nothing to do with with Payouts!!!!! The OP is not concerned about proving delivery!!!!

The OP is subject to payment holds as a new/infrequent seller, funds are on hold until delivery and eBay makes that decision based on what THEIR tracking info shows. The delivery was actually Monday, eBay should have released the hold on Tuesday but their deficient system is holding things up.

If you are not dealing with payment holds then it doesn't matter what eBay shows.

Ah, sorry about the misunderstanding. I don't have any payment holds on my account so that didn't come across my mind. That is indeed very frustrating!

For the record, the sales I mentioned 2 days ago still says "out for delivery"... The funny part is the tracking doesn't even match what's on CP website. On eBay's tracking it says it has been out for delivery since May 4 3pm... while CP tracking said it was DELIVERED May 4 8am 😂

there is something very messed up with eBay's Canada Post tracking - I have sales from weeks ago that are long delivered that still don't show as being delivered according to eBay tracking. If you go on CP tracking though it does show so there is obviously a synching problem. They know about it, it's been pointed out many times, they just don't seem inclined to fix it.

This was reported in the past and forwarded down the pike in the form of a ticket including examples from many sellers. At last word, nothing had been found as to what was causing the problem. And there has never been any additional followup. Hard to even know if a ticket is still open on the subject.

Currently, most of my Canadian shipments seem stalled at "It's on the way", including one from mid-April which was delivered with postive feedback received over 2 weeks ago.

All of my International Overseas shipments continue to state only  "You provided a tracking number". Zero progress.

Currently, tracking in eEBay vs Canada Post seems only in sync - *maybe* - for my U.S. shipments.

Bottom line: Whatever middleware service eBay is using has become so unreliable I now go straight to CP for any tracking updates.

2 years of this folks. 2 years!
