Canada Post today unveiled its new leading-edge zero-carbon parcel sorting facility that will have the capacity to process more than one million packages a day. The Albert Jackson Processing Centre will be a key hub for the company's national network and improve service for Canadians when it officially opens in early 2023. (located in Scarborough ON)

Vancouver's was opened in 2013. Wonder if its scheduled for major upgrades to be in line with the TO terminal? Nothing found. When it opened it was able to process 41,000 letters and 10,000 parcels per hour.
How it worked then:

This new facility which seems to be dedicated to packages only will be the largest in Canada, twice the capacity of Gateway, One Million packages per day.
Going by the numbers you quoted, Gateway is double the size of Richmond so the Jackson facility would be four times the size of Richmond, makes sense given the area that is served by the Toronto facilities (more than a third of the entire population of Canada and probably half of all packages handled by Canada Post).

If you live in the west anything going to the USA currently funnels through Richmond. Winnipeg has been known to go either way. Anything that I have shipped Internationally tracked going east has gone through Mtl. Will this change when things are fully operational? We shall see.
