Just printed off a Light Packet label and it now shows postage and looks more like a Small Packet Air form (More Rectangular Vertically)
This is definitely new to me as I did 3 Light Packets yesterday and they were in the old style. (More rectangular but horizontally)
Anyone else experiencing this?

I haven't noticed this yet, but I've been using other shipping services in the last few days. I'll keep an eye out for it though -- we never seem to know whether these things are permanent changes or glitches.
Speaking of Small Packet, I always hated that 1/2-size label. It just looks wrong, and is more difficult to read. I just hope they aren't doing the same thing to Light Packet deliberately.

Yes, the label is like small packet without bar code.
With stamp price was written on it 😉

Yup, printed off a Light Packet label this morning and noticed the change. Personally, I love the smaller more compact size. I regularly ship smaller items by Light Packet and the old 1/2 page label was often just too **bleep** big, even with the size reduced.
I hope this stays!

The stamp price was on it?
Darn.
You actually paid more for it than just the postage, didn't you? Tax and fuel surcharge come to mind. Plus packaging. Bubblewrap ain't free.
I liked PP stealth postage. It didn't encourage the unnecessarily tense to complain about a fifty cent difference in postage versus shipping and handling.

Hi there,
1) Where/how do you guys print your labels? Paypal? I copy the address and print from my computer using an Avery label.
2) The Post Office told me that I can ship some stuff using Light Packet and they showed this tingy that if the package fits through I can use the Light Packet option.
I don't see the price for Light Packet on the Canada Post website for Canada and USA - I only see the measurements.
Thank you.

Just to clarify about not seeing the price. When I enter a postal code and the measurements, via the link below, I don't see light packet as an option in the results.

Thanks

PayPal does not offer "Light Packet" service. It is basically the same as "first class lettermai or letterpostl" NOT available through PayPal.

Yes, PayPal. Light Packet labels can be printed directly from within eBay/PayPal. The cost of the label is deducted from your PayPal balance, or whatever payment method you have specified. You then print out the label, cut it to size, and affix to your package.
2) The Post Office told me that I can ship some stuff using Light Packet and they showed this tingy that if the package fits through I can use the Light Packet option.
Light Packet (as well as Lettermail in Canada) must be 2 cm or less in thickness. That slot they tried to fit your package through is 2 cm wide. Many postal employees are very picky about this and if it doesn't slip through cleanly and without resistance, they will insist the item is shipped as a parcel. This can be easily avoided by not dealing with the postal employees, and simply affixing your own stamps/PayPal label and dropping the item in your nearest mailbox.
I don't see the price for Light Packet on the Canada Post website for Canada and USA - I only see the measurements.
Here is a link to Canada Post's most recent specifications and pricing for Light Packet service:

If you weren't given the option of Light Packet when trying to research postage options through the Canada Post website, I suspect your item was either not the correct dimensions, or weight.

What do you mean? You definitely can print Light Packet labels through PayPal. I just did it this morning. I've done it many times in the past. That's what this entire thread is about... they just changed the look/size of Light Packet labels printed through PayPal...

Sorry, I meant to say you get no discount when buying the Light Packet label through PayPal

Thank you very much... that is most helpful. Shipping is still a struggle for me to sort out correctly as it varies so much in price based on item and location - so thanks for all your help on this. I'm getting there but it sure is a learning curve.
1) Is "Light Packet" the same as "Small Packet"? On the Canada Post website I see both 😞
2) Does Paypal print the label based on the shipping that I have in the listing or do I enter the info when I go to Paypal? Would be nice to have a way to test this stuff.

Thanks again!

1) Is "Light Packet" the same as "Small Packet"?
No. Like oversize lettermail, light packet has a maximum depth of 2cm and a maximum weight of 500 gr. When you send items outside of the country Canada Post does not want you to use lettermail but you can use light packet which has the same dimension requirements but is more expensive. I don't know the maximum dimensions of small packet but parcels can be heavier and bigger.
2) Does Paypal print the label based on the shipping that I have in the listing or do I enter the info when I go to Paypal?
You usually have to enter the information in Paypal. I don't use calculated shipping very often but it seems to me that at one time some information was automatically automatically transferred to Paypal but I'm not sure if that is still the case.

I shipped a Light Pkt. today through Paypal and did notice that when the price printed on the label it included HST. I actually don't mind the postal price showing on the label as I never charge any extra for shipping anyway.

Hi Tom, yes, I know. I was just trying to say that the postage price that shows on the label does show the actual price we pay, including the HST. Femme thought that it was only showing the postage price without hst and that would cause buyers to think we were overcharging them. I still wish that we could print multiple labels on Paypal and then just pay a total amount so that we didn't have to pay HST on each one. Because of this, I still go to the post office if I have more than one item to mail outside of Canada and altogether they are over the $5.00. I guess I could submit the form to recover overcharged HST each year but probably easier to just go to the P.O. each time.

I jut noticed that this morning. At first, I thought I had chosen Small Packet Air instead of Light Packet. I was looking around for a receipt number that I could upload as a tracking number and couldn't see anything. But if you have good eyesight or a magnifying glass LOL, there's a 16 digit number under the words "Custom Declaration" right at the bottom.
