Cheap Shipping for Larger Boxes Within Canada?

I need to ship a fairly large box from Vancouver to Edmonton. I usually use Canada Posts flat rate boxes, but even the large one could be too small. It is relatively light (only about 1kg) but would need to be about 40x40x30cm, which seems to be around $30-$35 calculated (CP, ChitChats, NetParcel).

Anyone know if UPS or FedEx has a large flat rate box like CP does? Back in the day, Greyhound used to ship large boxes for cheap... 😞

You could try Stallion Express. I don't know if they have a branch close enough to you or not, but that's probably your only other bet. Most companies seem to have abandoned flat rate options in Canada.

$23.45  through Sendle Canada.  Because of the size it gets slotted into the 10kg & 50L category, so weight is not an issue.    The price grid is at the link below.

They book the service through ICS Courier and it is picked up at your place.  I have had some issues with some  pickups not occuring on the day they are supposed to, but that may be my location, not sure.   It ends up the ICS courier depot in Ottawa is right beside the Chitchats depot so I just drop my Sendle's directly off with ICS instead of leaving them out for pickup sometime during the day.

Did you check the FedEx rate on the eBay calculator?

@pjcdn2005

Have you found a way for the calculator to work for Fedex in Canada?

https://www.ebay.ca/shp/Calculator

The tab for Fedex is still not active for Canada, USA or Internationally.

I should have been more specific. They can check the Fedex price on the ebay calculator by going to the sold item and clicking on purchase label. They don't have to purchase the label, I often checked prices like that.

Kinda would be nice to have access to those prices from the calculator PRIOR to a purchase. That same calculator on dot com works for USPS, UPS and Fedex no issues but it has been many promises over the years and we still don't have 1 that works for Canada other than CP. Then you are not switching services after a customer has paid.

Sure it would be nice but as I mentioned before, we were told that  ups and FedEx were not interested in doing that on .ca because of the smaller user base.  Perhaps that will change.

There have been lots of issues with FedEx and ups on .com but yes, it would  still be nice to have that option.

Wonder if ebay knows that they show Fedex as a tab but it's not active/working? Interesting thing to include but not be fully functional. Especially when they recommend sellers to use Fedex?
