First thing to point out, the NL Post DDU option does not come with a return service, so if CBP starts rejecting those they are gone...

Second, word is out that CBP is blocking Canada Post packages from China because everyone started using Canada Post to avoid tariffs, so they decided to block all these shipments (however you said just Ontario, so perhaps it was just one port of entry).  The source of this info is a bit iffy, so take it for what it's worth.

Next up - people will lie about CoO via Canada Post. I could see this winding up that Canada Post will drop commercial shipments to the US.
