I was doing some CD research and I came across a Canadian seller that is losing money on each CD he sells. Priced at $3.43 with free shipping. The shipping alone in Canada is $3.28. I calculated the fees and he/she is losing $.53 cents on each CD, that is not even including tape, envelope, paper, and time. This seller has a terrible business sense/model.

You can also use the customs form tool at the Canadapost website:
https://www.canadapost.ca/cpotools/apps/cdc?execution=e1s1
Mailing a parcel to the U.S.A. or internationally? Fill out your customs information online before you go to the Post Office. No need to fill out a paper form! No cost to use.

Oh dear. That sweet morning child.....
The old way was with a CN22 Small Packet manual two part form which you filled out and then put on the package with the appropriate postage rate in stamps then drop in the corner mailbox. No need to go to the post office.
Basically the same.
Here is the current form. My post offices and postal outlets hand them out freely.
I usually stick the HS code in "Other documentation".
While with the correct postage, you can drop it into the mailbox, Small Packet USA being an untracked service, I usually go to the PO pay the few pennies difference and get a receipt and stamp. The number on the receipt is not tracking of course, but I enter it anyway 'cause that's how we roll in the Shire.

Looks to me that they are re-using uncancelled stamps. Could be wrong but the corners appear to be sticking up as if they didn’t use enough glue to put them on.
Looks like ordinary regular stamps to me -- and I use a lot every year. The smaller the stamp the more likely you'll get corners that don't stick well (especially with the Canada Post self stick stamps).

Did you contact said seller to see if they simply didn't fill out the postal calculator properly and slamming the shipping charge at point of sale?
I was shipping CD's for several years WITHOUT a jewel case so I could squeek in under 100G.. but that's not possible with a Jewel Case. Another theory is they are going for feedback and just getting rid of inventory. You should ask them what's going on.
