Double check your MP transaction history! Got charged for Gallery Plus randomly

I was browsing a different thread and saw the above link, so I looked just out of curiousity and saw that I just got charged a Gallery Plus fee out of all things! For one old listing on .COM that's over a year old, and I never use the Gallery Plus feature. I just checked my Jan to March invoices and indeed I wasn't charged any Gallery Plus fee back then, so it's not a listing error on my end. This listing is still running too, so it's not one of my recent sold listings.

So now it has prompted me bulk edit all of my listings to make sure I don't get charged again. I'm not gonna waste my time with customers service over $1.31 but this is very annoying! It even says my balance is in the negative so I just paid this silly $1.31 with my credit card as I didn't want them to withdraw from my bank account as my chequeing doesn't have unlimited withdrawal. 

To edit: Bulk Edit -> Edit Listings -> Edit fields -> Listing Upgrades
Select "Remove from all" for Picture upgrades, Gallery Plus, Bold, and International site visibility 

I was already pretty apprehensive about the switch to MP as I liked PP's ability to keep funds in different currencies. Hope there won't be any more new surprise charges or glitches! It seems every time eBay rolls out something new, something gets broken 😡

I am willing to bet it is related to the rearranging of the ebay catalog that got rolled out this week starting May 11.  https://pages.ebay.com/sellerinformation/news/categorychanges.html

Since Gallery Plus is
Free for listings in the Collectibles, Art, Pottery & Glass, and Antiques categories

it would not have cost anything if it was accidentally turned on for those categories, but if the listing got moved to a different category this week, fees could be charged on renewal.

Everyone should check to see if the category changes have an unpleasant effect on their listing cost.

Thanks, I didn't see that update before. The timeline matches since I got charged on the 11th. Just checked the listing that got charged, and it's still in the Collectibles (99% of my listings are). I didn't make any recent adjustment to my listings. I probably did use Gallery Plus before then if it was free. 

Collectibles > Animation Art & Merchandise > Animation Merchandise > Other Animation Merchandise

I don't know what else they messed up in the back but I'm not willing to pay for Gallery Plus... so I just turned it off for all of my listings to save myself the headache 😖

Luckily for me, that ONE listing is the only one that was due for auto-relist since May 11. If I noticed this a few days later I'd probably have been charged for more listings as I have a bunch due for auto-relist in the next 7 days! I would not be impressed with a $100+ bill for Gallery Plus lol 🤔 So it's good that I happened to check eBay today on my day off... damage has been kept to minimum 🙂

So, I have a question.  I just received my "invoice", final one I suspect since we have transitioned to MP.  I was charged $4.20 for "Advanced Listing Upgrade Fees", which shows it as using BOLD LISTING.  I have never used this upgrade in any of my listings.  There is no way to link why listing this fee is applied to?  I've clicked on the view details and it keeps looping me back to the download page (either HTML or CSV).  Neither one shows anything.

I went and searched through every stinking listing I have current, unsold, sold, draft and there is nothing that shows bold.  

What are my options?  We all know how we cant get ahold of ebay anymore, just redirection to thier evasive helpful pages. 

I would like to contest this charge, and yes, I know it is only $4.20 but it is MY $4.20 lol.

News is getting around on these discussion boards that you can get in touch with eBay Customer Service through Twitter or Facebook and be served quite well that way. I don’t have links at my fingertips, but a bit of searching should call them up eventually. I’ll post again if I see them in my travels.

I just noticed at the bottom of this page the quick links to eBay pages and one section says Stay Connected with links for Facebook and Twitter. Are these the same as the ones you posted.?
