Ending a listing early

Is anyone aware of what happens to the listing when it's ended early? Does it no longer go to your unsold folder? Asking for another seller who is looking desperately for listings they've ended. Same question for GTC's? Is there no longer any sort of email you would receive?

Thanks,

Yes it should go to the unsold folder unless it was a multiple listing that had sold some of the items.   That should apply to any listing that you manually end.

I just ended some GTC listings after 15 days and they are in Unsold. As to emails from eBay, have not received; however, eBay's emails with listings have been slow, sometimes not all...I  no longer rely on emails from eBay when items are listed or ended as for many months now that has been sporadic, hit and miss, some are received, some are not...

I ended a couple of listings early when GTC rolled out. For me, those never arrived in my unsolds or any sort of email. I personally don't believe ending a listing should be considered a "feature".

For the seller, I was in contact with they wanted to change from Auction to BIN only but are unable to locate anywhere.

Even with changing a listing from auction to fixed price, the ended auction listing should go to Unsold and then can be used to relist as fixed price. Have done that on occasion with no issues.

Thanks. Will pass it on to the other seller and maybe to Tyler on his return from "Hiatusville". Hopefully, this is just a temporary or random issue.

How long ago did the seller end the listing?

Unsolds only last 60-90 days after which they are gone forever.

It may be easier for your seller to recreate a listing just for you.

@femmefan1946

Listing was ended a few days ago. They are realizing that auctions are a lost cause unless it is something that is truly unique.

I can't disagree with that conclusion.

The listings that I manually ended, are in my "Ended" folder as well as in my "Unsold" folder. The difference that I see between the 2 is Ended only has listing that the seller has manually ended for whatever reason. Unsold has everything that hasn't sold.

If you are referring to the listing views available in Seller Hub under the "Listings" tab there are some important differences to be aware of between the "Unsold" and "Ended" lists.

The "Unsold" list includes as the name implies all listings that ended unsold, this includes GTCs that were manually ended. The list does not include "Sold" listings, just unsolds that have been relisted or not relisted. It is possible to mistakenly relist a sold item but this would usually only occur if the item was relisted in more than one format or duration thus creating multiple listings for a single item. This happens but is easily avoidable if all relisted items are deleted from the list each and every time a listing is relisted ... even if the format / duration was changed.

The "Ended" list is very different from "Unsold" due to the inclusion of every sort of listing there is, including unsold, relisted, not relisted, cancelled and SOLD. There are filters available for all of these of course BUT from personal experience I can state that it is not all that difficult to mistakenly run a report for relisting purposes that includes SOLD listings. All one has to do is choose to filter by " not relisted" , sold items are then included in the list. I quickly learned to NEVER tempt fate by using the "Ended" list for relisting purposes ... use the "Unsold" list only.
