Got about 5,000 US$ stuck in managed payments and unable to enter my bank information

Hey guys!

So when I entered in managed payment I had to choose a currency for my account and picked US$ since about 80% of my sales are in US$.

Now I have about 5k US$ in my account and when I try to enter my RBC US$ bank account in there to get my money, it doesn't work because it's not a Canadian bank account...

What should I do? Is there a way to make a Canadian US$ bank account?

Thanks!

Post #10 brought them up as a better source for useful advice.

They are relatively new  so whether those reps are better trained or are just not yet burned out they do seem to be more authoritative.

This seems to come from some scatterbrained phone clerks, not from management. Maybe the clerks came up with it in the coffee room.

Again, move to Chat or social media.

And proof read your part of the conversation for grammar and punctuation.

Some of the clerks have English as a second or third language. If that is also the seller's situation, there are huge opportunities for misunderstanding.

That part about opening a new account I believe is the suggested work around if you had already chosen your currency and wanted to switch.See below.  In any case it was a poorly thought out decision especially for a longtime seller that was able to freely list on either site in the past.

Consequences (opening a new account if you wanted to list in 2 currencies)2 x store fees, loss of built up feedback and the biggie....Payout holds while waiting for buyers to either leave feedback or confirm delivery.

Getting paid in US dollars | Seller Centre (ebay.ca)

Can I change my payout currency later?

No, you will not be able to change your payout currency at a later time.

Can I receive payouts in both Canadian and US dollars?

No, you cannot accept Canadian and US dollars with the same eBay account. If you want to accept both Canadian and US dollars, you will need to operate two separate accounts: one to list on eBay.ca to receive payouts in Canadian dollars; and another to list on eBay.com to receive payouts in US dollars. Learn more about setting up a seller account.

PS. When I inrolled in MP USD payouts was not an option.

A new BANK account , yes .

But some clerks seem to think the member should open a new EBAY account, losing not only feedback, but also the money lost somewhere in space.

However

I also suspect that some members are mistaking the clerk's annoying but workable suggestion of a new BANK account to mean abandoning an existing eBay account.

Thus

Get it in writing.

Read it at leisure.

It's January 2022 and I had the online chat rep tell me the same thing almost.... "it will take extensive documentation to send you your money by cheque as a one time payment and then we will have to close your ebay account"................ that I've had for 22 years.

I have a two separate CIBC accounts the ebay will not recognize.   The online support takes literal hours and they are of no help and offer no advice.   They literally keep saying to "open another bank account".   WHAT other bank account?   They won't tell me what kind of where and it's a **bleep** shoot.   My money is stuck on ebay, illegally hijacked now.   With ZERO assistance.
