Has anyone had any trouble with Hong Kong addresses?

This is the 2nd package in the past few months that the Hong Kong PO cannot deliver as addressee unknown.  I sent it to the paypal address, looks like another one will be lost.  I am thinking of not having Hong Kong as one of the areas I ship to,  It is too bad as I have a few buyers from there.

What is my responsibility here?  Do I have to repay the buyer?  I will never get it back although I did purchase insurance from Chit Chats?  Will the buyer still be able to leave feedback?

What does the address look like on Google Maps?  (Always fun if not always useful.)

There has been some excitement in Hong Kong lately.

Look at the times.

All those notes are on the same day. First try at delivery?  Notice left about pickup?  (I have no idea how the HK post office works, but it is very likely based on Royal Mail systems.)

Re: Has anyone had any trouble with Hong Kong addresses?

I've had no problems sending Lettermail there. The problem I see with many International addresses is that the format is often all messed up, often there are bits of of the address strung together on a single line to the point where the adddress makes no sense.

International address formats are not something ebay seems to concern themselves with. Whenever I notice one of ebay's tossed and blended addresses I check to see what the correct domestic address format is for the country involved.

You could always try asking the buyer to phone the post office themselves to see if they can inquire about it before refunding I suppose... HK Post is supposedly very safe, but I don't know if the postal system has been affected from the recent unrest. The police there is just insane now. They'd even assault firefighters for protecting people who are injured.

@musicyouneed

There was a discussion a while back regarding this issue. In doing a search received the following:

"hong kong addresses"

Did you mean: gong Kong addresses.

Anyone know where gong Kong is please? open_mouth  AI at its finest!!!

You can try any of the following links. One of them "may" have more detailed information on delivery status.
