I sold a high priced item for 400$. The buyer is giving me the address of a shipping forwarder company and i can't ship there. I requested mutual cancelation and he denied. I want to refund him but the neg is really scaring me. What do I do? Its the only address he has.

if it is not the address on there paypal account do not ship ... contact ebay and explain to get your seller fees back sense they denied cancellation ....

if you get a neg explain why you cancelled because seller requested you ship to a different address..

Why can't you ship to the freight forwarder?

I would have asked the buyer to add the address of the forwarder to his paypal account.

That would likely have required a refund and re-purchase with the new address.

Since you've already asked the buyer to cancel and he refused that will be more difficult now, but maybe not impossible.

I'm assuming you're saying you can't ship to the forwarder because the address isn't on the paypal account.

Is that correct?

That is a reason, and I just don't feel safe shipping to them incase of lost or stolen things happen. It is a high valued item.

If you ship with delivery confirmation it should be no different that shipping anywhere else as long as the address is on the paypal account.

If the buyer had that address on his paypal account prior to buying you would have shipped there no questions asked.

Support will 100% make sure you get your fees back and will make sure any neg is removed if you get one and yes it might take alot of explaining and time but you are well within ebay rules to deny the sale due to the address thing BUT you should have let an unpaid case occur or confirm cancelling before sending request  but at the end of the day the only thing that matters is the buyer asked you to ship to an address that was not on there paypal account ...

Freight forwarders are just like a middle man BUT if you had the item delivered to the forwarder and the buyer claimed they did not receive and it was for some reason not scanned after and the last delivered address was the forwarder address you would lose the item not received case because it did not show delivered to there paypal address ...

Although the other post is correct no biggie for what the buyer is asking they are also correct in saying they would need to change the paypal address for the reason above.. ..

Many Japanese and South Korean members use freight forwarders to buy in the USA. Perhaps because of the cultures there (personal honour and honesty being highly valued) I have never seen a complaint about this, once the seller gets over their shock.

For other nations....

However, if the item is Delivery /Signature Confirmed to an address that is on the Paypal account, all you need to show is that it arrived at the forwarder .

That is all PP will ask.

You could also ask Customer Support to end the transaction because you have an Unwanted Buyer. The final destination is not one you ship to. I'm not sure how this is done and I'm not sure if it protects you against negative feedback.

We usually counsel new sellers to start with inexpensive items, preferably from around the home, until they establish themselves and get used to the eBay system.

In fact we usually counsel newbies to build a feedback of 10 or more by buying before even attempting to sell.

What happens if you are asked to ship that $500 ebook reader to Florida? To a freight forwarding company?

Sounds like a scam to us. We just encountered another attempt a few days ago. This time they used a different user name since we blocked all of their user names 6 months ago but the shipping address is the same as before.

What they did last time was not pay until we opened a non payment case. This was sneaky on their part since you can't open another case for a real issue, you are only allowed 1 case per sale. After doing a google search of their user name we found out the rest of the scam. Including word for word the message they sent us.

They say they never got the item ( sent without tracking) or that it was an empty box (shipped with signature). In both cases paypal sides with the scammer and to bad for the seller. Also they never leave feedback for anyone to keep them from getting caught.

So without sending the scammer anything we just refunded them fully and reported them to ebay for teying to get us to ship to another address. (same address, different box #).
