Interesting new? wording in paypal payments...

Perhaps I've only just noticed it today but I'm seeing payments from eBay buyers that instead of the normal:

"Purchase from BUYERNAME"

it says

"PayPal Smart Connect BUYERNAME"

I'm wondering what that means, I'm sure it denotes some sort of paying type, perhaps from a phone?

Hi Mj! There are only a small number of the smart connect ones among the regular style descriptions..... I am getting both kinds, I'm just curious about why some have the different wording....

I have no theory. Smart Connect? What does that even mean?  I found this via Google search: PayPal Smart Connect(formerly known as PayPal Buyer Credit) is an online only credit line.Feb 25, 2014. Is this their pay-in-installements plan?

Hmm it is interesting, some customers have used it to purchase larger things, but some small things (like $13 or $18). From that I'd assume they are treating it like a credit card.... so far it has been being used by established customers, Ie they've purchased from me a few times over several years......

All I see is BUYERNAME via PayPal or Notification of payment received.

Hi XE, I'm talking about what one sees when one logs into one's PAYPAL account, the transaction descriptions on the summary page..... I think you are talking about the titles of the email notifications right??

Oh, I thought you meant the invoices. I see eBay - BUYERSNAME.
