Ebay just announced they move all billing (ebay selling fees for sellers) to USD only. If you still want to change the currency to CAD, you can do so but the window is closing and after that you won't be able to do that anymore.
To change from USD to CAD go here:
Here are some considerations - all this is from the view of Canadian seller with Canadian billing address.
1. You may prefer to get Canadian or US seller plan depending on your needs.
Listing fees: Ebay.CA accounts have higher limit on free postings than Ebay.COM US accounts. Ebay.CA subscription plan starts at 20 dollars vs. the US subscription at roughly 5 dollars (the US plan includes less but also costs much less than Canadian plan).Whether Ebay will change the Canadian seller plan to match the US plans, who knows. Ebay wants to attract larger sellers to its platform so they would unlikely lower fees for smaller sellers.
In the past you couldn't mingle both. You can post listings on either US or Canada sites and listings on both sites will count towards your total free limit of listings incuded in your plan based on your billing currency.
At least until just recently, if you purchased the US Ebay subscription and your sellers invoice currency was USD, both of your listings on US Ebay and Canada Ebay would be deducted from your US Ebay plan (that means if you had 5 dollar subscription, you are able to list the total number of listings both on US Ebay and Canada Ebay for free based on the limit you have in your US Ebay plan).
However, if your Canada Ebay billing currency is set to CAD Dollars and if you were listing on Canada Ebay.ca, the number of total listings would be deducted from the allocation you have as a seller under Canadian Ebay plans and not under your US plan. That means, even if you went with the 5 dollar plan on US Ebay.com and you expected to have X number of listings on Ebay.ca included, that would not work out as expected because you would be charged for listings fees for whaatever is allowable under Canada Ebay seller plans.
Weird? But wait, there's more... If you had existing listings, any changes you make to billing currency and / or to subscription plans (vs. US or Canada ebay) would not be applicable to those. Any changes you do would only be applicable to new listings.
Now back to the topic of this post..
2. Some categories are unavailable for sellers who list in CAN (and/or who's billing currency is set in CAD) instead in USD. If you list in those categories, you may need to continue billing in USD.
3. Seller fees: If you sell mostly on Ebay.com (seller fee billing only available in USD) but you now already get billed for seller fees in CAD, you may want to switch USD Dollars, as it may save you some exchange fees when paying thos seller fees.
Seeig both sales and billing in same currency is easier when doing reconciliation and dealing with partial refunds and credits and taxes and whatnot.
So it's up to you, but you have the chance until March 17 to change to CAD if you want.
After Match 17, you will only be able to change from CAD to USD.

If you are already enrolled in a Canadian plan system will not let switch to a US plan.
Your billing currency is set to CAD. Because eBay manages your payments, changes to your currency cannot be made.

I changed last year. To sign up for the US plan, I have then called the sales support (not the account management team), the sales support is friendlier. However, reaching support now may not be an option. I am Canadian seller, was CAD billing and switched to USD and got the USD seller plan. No issue. That was last year. And they also credited me the fees I already paid under the Canadian plan.

I think the fees are the same for USD and loonies? As in if a Store Subscription is $24.95USD it is also $24.95Cdn.
If that's right, and I'm not sure it is, then it would be cheaper by some 20c on the dollar to be billed in loonies.
Or am I missing the point again?

Can you please tell me where you read this information. I can’t find any announcement about this. Thanks.

Not missing anything.....
I don't really understand what the OP is talking about, the situation hasn't really changed so as always.....
If you list mostly on .com US Dollar billing is preferable, if you list primarily on .ca then CA Dollars is what you want.
As far as the differences in Stores, they are all cheaper if you open the Store on .ca because the rate is the same but the currency is different.
There may be some differences in the bonus freebies that were given to early registrants for Managed Payments but I think (not sure) those ended on Dec 31.

I would also like to know where you see the information about a change in billing currency. Does this have something to do with Managed Payments?
