Lower sales because you are a "Seller In Canada" vs USA?

Do you think you lose sales to the USA when buyers see that you in Canada? When buyers do an initial search the result under the title indicates where the seller is located.

I don't have a lot of items listed right now, but did earlier in the summer.  I list on .com, in USD, ship Worldwide and my shipping costs are competitive with the USA. My prices are usually cheaper as I don't have the overhead of a store to cover.

Any thoughts?

When Canadians shop online (eBay or elsewhere) and find an item at the same price and terms offered by a Canadian seller and an American seller, will they prefer to purchase domestically (Canada) or from a foreign seller (USA)?

I guess the same applies the other way around.

The answer is obvious - DEFINITELY YES!

Just for that reason thousands of Canadian sellers ship from US (these who live at the border) or use forwarding services.

I just wish that when buyers do a search, that "from Canada" didn't show up right under the item title. If it didn't perhaps buyers would at least click on the item and give it a better look. I am a bit too far from the border to send from the USA.

I as a buyer I would prefer to purchase from Canada, but price is always a factor. If the american  item price has enough of a difference from the Canadians price , then I will go american. I think thats pretty universal

It's not just the price of an item. The shipping can be cheaper from the States than within Canada. Global shipping has screwed that up though.

Unfortunately, too many Americans know too little about Canada, and don't want to take a chance on buying from Canadians.

A few months ago, an American buyer, after making a purchase from me, asked whether it would arrive by plane or by ship LOL
