Need help regarding changes to ebay

since I last sold here in 2006.

I need to know about online tracking options from Canada Post that are Paypal compliant?

The different listing fees with ebay?

Whether to use auction or fixed price listings?

Do they still have ebay stores?

I know this info is here somewhere, but ebay has changed so much since I last sold here.

Thanks in advance.

Canada Post -- register for their free "Solutions for Small Business" (formerly Venture One). Gives a variety of discounts and needed if you buy shipping online from Canada Post or PayPal or goShippo (eBay's current shipping partner). Printing shipping online is usually cheaper than at your local post office postal outlet.

Tracking in Canada: use Expedited Parcel (includes $100 insurance, money back guarantee if late)

Tracking to USA: Tracked Packet (up to 1kg) or Expedited Parcel.

But there is lots of stuff in low-theft categories that you can send without tracking (you self-insure).

Inside Canada: Oversize lettermail (flat rates for anywhere in Canada, max of 500g, max of 2cm thick)

To USA: Small Packet (flat rate anywhere in USA, max weight of 1kg, great discounts if printed online from either PayPal or goShippo).

...

Unless listing a wanted hard-to-find item use Buy-It-Now (BIN) rather than a plain auction (if non-store you can add a free BIN price to auction for those who can't wait).

...

As an individual you get 50 free listings per month on both eBay.CA and on eBay,COM (but shipping is more of challenge to set up on .COM). Allow 10% of saleprice+shipping for selling fees plus GST/HST/QST. And 2.9-3.9% for Paypal.

Stores: http://pages.ebay.ca/help/sell/storefees.html

The main thing to remember about shipping is that Registered Mail will not be traced outside the borders of the country it is purchased in.

So if a foreign buyer asks that you Register a parcel, use one of the more modern Tracked services like Tracked Parcel (duh!), Expedited, or ExpressPost.

Tracking is a Seller Protection.

Never ship Surface. It's too expensive, as you will learn the first time a Surface parcel does not arrive quickly and your buyer gets fully refunded.

More than 85% of listings are now Fixed Price and most Auctions have a Buy It Now option.

Over half of all transactions involve a mobile phone shopper, so look at your finely crafted listing and be ready to revise.

Free Shipping just means the cost of shipping is included in the asking price.

Buyers love it.

If you can list something with Flat Rate Shipping, put it on dotCOM and list in US dollars.

If you must use parcel rates, list on dotCA and list in loonies.

because eBay.CA has a calculated shipping option for Canada Post that makes parcel rates much more accurate (so you are not over or under estimating).

...

If you are near chitchatsexpress (Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Halifax) or StallionExpress (Toronto) you can check out their flat rate shipping cost for the 10 provinces. They (and others) also take parcels across the border for a small fee and let you ship using the USPS (US domestic rates are really cheap and have tracking).
