New Store Categories View

Heads up for anyone that regularly searches a store by categories. On dot com the tab is now called Shop by Categories. On dot ca it is still called Categories with a list. Comparison view attached along with a discussion on dot com about the change. Most likely something in the works to hit dot ca sellers "eventually". As noted in post 6, in seeing how it now displays on dot com, I'm in agreement that the new drop down box is not very obvious and many buyers/searchers will likely miss.

Does anyone Search by categories? Or even sub-categories?

If I were looking for a specific figurine from my favourite TV show would Collectibles or Hobbies or Entertainment Memorabilia or  Other be where I should Search?

Personally I would be Searching  "firefly serenity kaylee "

I think this has a lot more to do with third party SEOs than with buyers.

Yes to both!

Drop down Category selectors are found everywhere in ecommerce.

As long as I've been on eBay (+17 years) I've always searched by using search. Never sub-categories. It's kinda like going to Uber Eats or booking dot com for the "convenience"!! Vendors prefer when you go directly and save them the fees.  That's been my experience and 9 times out of 10 get a better assortment of what's actually available and at a lower price.
