ONE SOLUTION for "Shipping options USA Not Working/Not showing"

Anonymous
Not applicable

This has been an ongoing problem for years at eBay.ca Canada . . .
"Canada Post USA Shipping Rates not working correctly or at all (seemingly)"

Even when a parcel is within dimension and weight limits the "Calculate Shipping" doesn't work correctly or at all for USA rates. Today it simply ignored USA and proposed UK and Germany rates that I didn't ask for ????

The most annoying thing about this system is that it doesn't give any feedback such as maybe it's a package under size problem. Of which is a common error, and newbies can only find answers for by going to the Canada Post Rates pages.

I discovered today that when I logged into eBay.com USA I could see the USA shipping rates, that I couldn't see from the eBay.ca Canada site. I used a Florida zip code and it calculated the rates.

Another package I had listed for USA shipping didn't work because it was too small for the Canada Post shipping method I chose. But the eBay.ca Canada site didn't tell me that while creating the listing. When I went into that listing from eBay.ca while I was also logged into eBay.com the Canada Postal rate system started working correctly. I set the minimum package size, clicked "Calculate Shipping" and it worked perfectly. It showed 2 options for USA, and they were small packet instead of the parcel method I had chosen originally. Not only did it work but it corrected what shipping methods could be used. And now the rates for USA shipping are also working while in eBay.ca.

I know, this a dumb solution, but it worked for me. I'm highly technical, and been with eBay for many years, and I'm just as annoyed as everyone else that they can't be reached easily and they still haven't fixed an issue that is clearly their problem.

THE SOLUTION is login into eBay.com while working in eBay.ca when you want to list items that will ship to the USA.

I can't promise it will work for everyone. Maybe OS and browser versions are another factor, I use Mac OS and Safari.

Good Luck

This is brought up regularly as an ongoing issue with sellers & buyers on dot ca. Is it even on eBay's radar? A variation of this is even reported on dot com. The main consequence is if the calculator does not work properly for the buyer they go elsewhere.

The system does give you an error message during listing creation if your measurements are, for example too large for a particular service. But not if the measurements are too small.
