Heads up for anyone in the near future shipping to the UK.

Will eBay Canada/USA be protecting sellers from INR's due to the ongoing British Mail Strike?
Situations such as need to be addressed proactively by eBay for all concerned. Not when there have been a multitude of items arriving late...after the fact in both directions.
We do appreciate when sellers (and buyers when applicable) are kept in the loop. Example: The recent post explaining what went wrong with the charity email kerfuffle.👍👍👍

Hi @lotzofuniquegoodies! We understand the situation with the British Mail Strike is fluid and we will adapt as the situation evolves. As far as seller protections there is a detail list here on our UK help pages but here is some of the coverages we are offering:
eBay will automatically protect your performance until Saturday 31 December for transactions for:

Hi Devon, I see that those Seller Protections you showed above apply to sellers in the UK so do you mean that they also apply to us in Canada? And do they apply to us Canadians who list on .com and ship to the UK? Thanks!

There isn't and probably should be anything from eBay about theis type of disruption until there is actually something to be concerned about.
Royal Mail have been doing short duration work stoppages since the Spring. Also the workers in other operations (Post Office) have also been rotating strikes for months. While I'm sure this slows down deliveries it's hardly the end of the world. Even before privitization over there they were on strike frequently all the time I've been sending small parcels there (going back to the 1980's).
If it's at all possible, alternative services are better as the last mile is generally done by non-union companies. I'm using APC via Stallion to the UK, the only slowdowns with them are on this side of the ocean, local UK deliveries are rarely more than 2 - 3 days from Heathrow arrival.

This is more about eBay not being consistent in their announcements. Addressing it after the fact when it is valid known issue does not help Canadian sellers(especially at this busy time of year when mail can routinely be late due to nothing a seller has done wrong). And not all sellers may ship the way you do and still end up with and end delivery using Royal Mail
