Six-bit or wonderlister - anyone use these?

TL user for about 10 yrs. Have had it crash twice now in 12 months so time to move on I think. I need a reliable database to store my 800+ items on. Which is best, sixBit or Wonderlister? Can't afford Auctivia, too expensive and don't need all those fancy templates. I have 2 store IDs. Does anyone use either of these and can tell me about them? Thanks.

Re: Six-bit or wonderlister - anyone use these?

SixBit user.......great program and support (of course not perfect), very powerful and MUCH more than just a lister (except for the basic version). I use the Small Business edition which means that except for a few functions I never have to do anything on eBay.

SB was developed by the same team as Blackthorne and it's predecessors Sellers Assistant Pro and Auction Assistant. I've used them since 2001 when they were the only thing available.

I looked at WonderLister a few years ago, it was pretty much a copy of Blackthrone. My concern at the time and it still holds true is that it's almost a one-man show with a fairly small client base. This bodes well for support but also leaves you open to being left in the lurch should anything bad happen to the developer. At that time and I don't know if it's changed, WL only worked on .com while SB works on .com, .ca, .uk & .au

SixBit has a much larger user base and is growing rapidly as they are adding many TL users and also now that they support Amazon and Etsy (with more marketplaces to come).

For long terms stability and much greater available options I would go with SB over WL.

Re: Six-bit or wonderlister - anyone use these?

Just to clarify with Auctiva.

They do have some issues, but are half the price of Sixbit.

I have the $15.00 plan, have 3 ID's under that plan (all set up separately) and can schedule.

You don't need the templates, nor do you need images in the description.

Re: Six-bit or wonderlister - anyone use these?

Wonderlister, sixbit, crazylister and auctivia...are there others?

When TL goes I need to find something. The essentials are:

1. It is off line, I want my items on my computer.

2. I can use it on several eBay accounts by different family members.

3.I can import listings from eBay.

4. I can move the listings from one account to another in bulk to list like with TL.

5. It is not overly expensive.

6 It works on both .ca and .com.

I have no need of templates, inventory control, email notifications etc and don't want to pay a lot for such features I don't need.

Any advice or recommendations?

SixBit Home & Hobby Edition

https://www.sixbitsoftware.com/clients/aff.php?aff=242

1 - Check

2 - Check (2 for H&H edition, 5 for Small Business Edition)
3 - Check

4 - Check

5 - You decide, $20/month to save a ton of time and avoid mistakes

6 - Check (you need to run a separate database for each site)

TL was free.

I just looked and I would need the $69.99 (U.S. dollars) version full of bells and whistles I'll never use. That is too expensive for me, almost $100 Canadian per month just for a listing tool.

Curious why you need off line instead of just off Ebay

Why do you need the Enterprise version? What does it have that the cheaper editions don't?

You need the $40.00 version if you want scheduling

Maybe they are like me and they want instant access to every Item, every Listing, every Sale and every Buyer. I have all that for everything I've done on eBay for the last 16 years.

Not everyone needs that information. I certainly do not. If they do, it may be a very good product.

"Why do you need the Enterprise version? What does it have that the cheaper editions don't?"

We have 5 family members at home that sell...on a total of 10 accounts. Not all are used all the time but depending on who is busy or not and what listing sales are on we use them all. The cheaper editions don't allow 10 accounts. TL had no limits.

As for offline use I want control of my files and to be able to edit or work on them with a laptop without internet access. Often I work on things while away from home and with no internet. Also if a set of listings is not put up for several months I want to know I can revive it. I have about 10,000 items (many lower valued stamp items that only go up on a listing sale) that I only occasionally put up,

Wonder Lister has the lowest prices for smaller sellers.

http://www.wonderlister.com/pricing

Bronze plan seems to be the lowest price plan for a Canadian Seller who lists on two sites (com and ca). 2 eBay ids, 2 eBay sites, 2500 active listings, $10 US per month. You can store as many listings in the plan but only 2,500 listings can be active at one time.

Other plans with more listings approach SixBit pricing.

I never used WonderLister nor SixBit. I have used eBay Turbo Lister, Selling Manager Pro, Auctiva, inkFrog.

Re: Six-bit or wonderlister - anyone use these?

Thanks to all for the info. Much appreciated. I might drop the eBay store on one ID in order to pay for this. Luckily, I don't sell much on the one, especially lately, and it's paid for monthly. Been thinking I don't really need the extra store, it's really just a convenience for when I take vacations. After this last TL crash, which the Advanced Apps team ( who are great BTW!) had no explanation for, I think it's time to move on from TL.

Re: Six-bit or wonderlister - anyone use these?

One more question, does anyone know if wonderlister or activa look just like Turbo Lister when you go to list? I really don't want to start over learning new ways of doing everything. Also, will my TL items disappear from TL when they are transferred over to a new program? What if I don't like it, how will I get back to TL? Okay, that was 3 questions, I guess. Thanks again.

Wonderlister and Auctiva are two completely different animals, one is web based and one resides on your desktop (like TL). As far as looking the same as TL, probably not exactly but possibly similar.

Nothing happens to your TL file, you will be able to access it even after support for TL ends. The only real difference is that TL will no longer connect to the eBay API.

Re: Six-bit or wonderlister - anyone use these?

So which one resides on my desktop (not sure what web based is). I definitely want one that I can use offline, like TL. Rural GTA here, with unreliable & slow cell/internet reception.

Wonder Lister is on your computer and you work on your computer like Turbo Lister and upload listings like Turbo Lister when you want to.

From what I saw at the Wonder Lister site, it is similar to Turbo Lister. Since you have experience using TL, you should adapt quickly.

By the way, keeps some notes on how it goes trying Wonder Lister. Post back your experiences for a review of the product. It would help others who will be thinking about alternatives to Turbo Lister.

Thanks recped and pocomo for your help. When I do migrate to a new program I will be sure to post back here and let others know what I think. Hopefully, it will be a positive review.
