Is this the final version of the tool or is Ebay still having someone fix this in their basement? Unless Ebay is just doing changes on the fly, I didn't see anything announced. Reluctant to touch this piece of "bleep" until it's fixed.
Also....This makes for an interesting statement from Ebay..."Without SEVERLY disrupting their business"...????...Its pathetic.....

I apologize for attempting to zero in on your own particular case.
While it is true that the tool had to go through growing pains and that as a result, it has shortened the preparatory period available for sellers to migrate their listings, we feel there is still enough time for everyone to complete this work within the updated timelines without severely disrupting their business."

Yesterday I spoke to an ebay employee raphael@ebay.com about the tool not working properly and I quote her answer "It is scheduled for today. We will make the announcement when the roll out is complete. " Today is now yesterday and nothing has been fixed

Raphael is a "he"

This whole thing has gone overboard... Like I said side stepping real questions with completely useless answers every time.
Let's put square tires on our cars and go on a road trip!

Well I just tried it again.
Still baffled.
It won't allow me to bulk relist.
It opened Garage Sale for some reason.
I can't tell which items have been relisted since I started this process and there are now more items in Drafts than I have available for listings-- so obviously there are a bunch of duplicates.
I can't delete anything from the Drafts.
All I want is to be able to go to the Bulk Relister and change my US currency listings that I plan to keep on dotCA to Canadian currency.
No other changes.
Is there any way to do that and only that?
And no Turbo Lister is not an option for a Mac user.
And no I don't have all my pictures saved. My items are unique ( once sold if I find another it will not be identical). Rescanning over a thousand items is a pain.

I tried it and the migration (disintegration) tool is absolute garbage and I did mine manually.
I guess Ebay refuses to test anything before going live. Great way to run an IT department, not.

I have about 20 gigs of pictures as I save them all in case of all the Ebay and TL mess ups and issues.
I really feel for you and you may have to do all your listings manually if the migration too does not work.
You may want to sign up for the inkFrog special at $11/month and import all your active listings. It will import some solds as well, but not sure how far back it goes.
Your images will be imported so you won't lose those and you can fix things over time.
It has a learning curve and is different to use. They do have many bulk edit features but you have to set them all up as profiles..

Adjusting listings from US dollars to Canadian dollars and keeping the listing on eBay canada.
Work on one listings at a time.
(1) End the listing. under Active listings on eBay Canada.
(2) The listing is now in the unsold list.
(3) Click on relist and follow through a revision process... and change US dollars to Canadian dollars.... at the very beginning/top of a revision page
(4) Continue the revision process until the listing is back as an active listing on eBay.
Easy to do but very time consuming at about one listing per minute...
-----------------------------------------
This process involves going through several pages..... to relist the listing
-----------------------------------
I have been doing this one day at a time with the 120 to 125 listings that end each day..... for a total of 30 days.
For each day ... It is end all of the listings that will end that day, and revise one listing at a time......always in control
----------------------
The only way we can revise a listing's currency is to end the listing.... and then change US to Canadian dollars as a part of the relist process.

And as part of that process one must manually change half the listing in doing so. Category, shipping, method of payment, turnaround time, blah, blah...It's preposterous that Ebay has inflicted this type of time commitment on sellers that it collects millions of dollars from every month. I've never seen anything like it....This is CBC worthy!

Thanks cumos -- That's what I have been doing, about 20 a day, but my real annoyance is not being able to transfer my paperbacks and dress patterns over to dotCOM in bulk.
I guess I'll leave doing this until the last minute. Or just keep them on dotCA.
At the moment changing from $9.99 USD to $12.99 CDN loses me nine whole cents each (because today the exchange makes it $13.08).
Poot.
Alll my new listings that I use Free Shipping for go on dotCOM. With a Note to remind me where and when.
On the other hand, I just sold all my postage to a private customer, so we eat tonight.

And as part of that process one must manually change half the listing in doing so.
That's not my experience.
I do review those things and occasionally make a change-- some of my Store categories were obviously assigned when I should have been napping-- but only the currency MUST be changed.
We are still talking about changing the currency from USD to CDN on dotCA listings right?

I just ended up using TL.
Set up a template with info that did not change in Can $ and paste what did change into the template from the listings in US dollars.
When all were done, deleted the US dollar listings and relisted the Can $ listing ones.
Deleted are the US ones in TL as well so won't have any duplicate listings.
What good is a migration tool if you have to do each one separately?

If you have a MAC....
Find a friend with a Windows system on a computer... Set up Turbolister and do the adjustment....A possible option....
or ..... find a ... friend... acquaintance ... who is an eBay seller such a computer
----------------------------------------------------
The Migration Tool sounded OK when it was released... until that last step....which left me wondering ... What is this?
and ... that is when I decided to do the adjustment... US to Canadian dollars... using procedures I know and understand.....
Time consuming... Yes... But... I am in control... 100 %
Just completed Day 18... with 12 more to come.....
30 days is quick enough for me with 3,743 listings...... 120 to 125 listings each day
and ... Now I have new listings to add each day.... with more to prepare....

I had to spend the last week programming my own migration tool, and I am no expert at working with the eBay API. The solution eBay is suggesting is not a migration tool, it is a crude re-lister. It does not deal with quantity, shipping options or deleting old listings. eBay is supposed to be a tech company for online retail. The solution they provided is embarrassing.
It would have only taken them a few days to create a basic tool, that would have better addressed peoples needs.
06-03-2016 12:46 PM
Better yet, they could have moved everyone's listings themselves if they wanted and not bothered with the tool.
But then they would have had first hand knowledge of what lousy programmers they have!

My experience with the tool moving from .ca to .com earlier in the week:
- Needlessly confusing interface.
- No apparent ability to recreate a draft once "migrated"? Tool randomly lost about 25-30 listings when importing. A few lookups later and I found the missing listings and created them manually. Thanks!
- Quantities imported were original listing quantities, not remaining/available quantities. No possible problems there! Thanks!
Essentially I lost a day of sales. Put the store on vacation, created drafts, bulk edited listings, then several rounds of turbolister to get things where they needed to be. What should have taken an hour took many more. Definitely not a great user experience for something that was a relatively straightforward database exercise but in the end it got done. I'm grateful that at least something was provided to help us with this transition, but there were some extremely basic errors that shouldn't have happened here.
Post migration results are encouraging. More net new US customers, more revenue. Should have swapped to .com sooner but I've been stuck with a dilemma on how to best serve Canadian customers as the products I sell have to go via parcel post but the margins and average selling price make flat rate shipping options on .com unworkable. I wish there was a solution for calculated shipping via Canada Post API (and other shipping API's for that matter) on .com or inventory management solutions that allow the same item to be listed on multiple ebay sites seamlessly.

When you change a .ca listing listed in CDN dollars to .com USD listing you need to make numerous other changes as mentioned. That includes shipping parameter and listing category.
