Just a rant...my wife pretends to sympathize and understand but you folks are the only ones that really get it...
I rarely get cancellation notices, and upon powering up today I have 2!
One was interesting, the buyer purchased and sent me a couple emails outside ebay asking to cancel, but there was a very significant language barrier, I actually deleted the messages thinking they were spam because one made no sense at all, until I later noticed the email address looked a lot like an ebay id that had just purchased something. Took many emails to get them to ask for the cancellation through ebay but finally got that one looked after.
Other one was quite understandable buyer bought a decent sized item, forgot to apply a 10% off coupon, called ebay to get their help to apply it, CSR tells them to get me to cancel and relist. So that's what we did. I don't know why the CSRs can't post apply the coupon, it was a pain to do it this way.
Neither of these I mind, it's a matter of doing business, but so very odd that 2 come on the same day, within a couple hours of each other and buyers on opposite sides of the world!
I also worry that the "bots" count the cancellations too (assuming that if a lot of buyers are asking for cancellations there is something wrong with what I am selling), hopefully the threshold is high before any "bot action" is taken!
Also have an MIA package here to Ontario. I actually called the buyer to discuss the problem, had a great conversation, it seems as though there's someone grabbing stuff off porches in their neighbourhood. I normally would anyway but that cemented my policy to block after MIA's
Final straw (hopefully) for the day, did a "just checking in" for a very large outstanding (unpaid) non-online order and got the word things have changed and they need to cancel too.
Plus I'm wrapping up income tax numbers preparation.... hopefully I'm getting all the @#$!#@#$ out of the way in one day!!
Rant completed...

Well, it's a break from list, sell, package, list, sell, package, list, sell, package, over and over.
We need a ((hugs)) icon for those days.

Theoretically if they are not a seller fault cancellation reason (ie out of stock) they should not count in the deranking criteria that determines your "score" that they use to determine visibility. That being said I did read yesterday that CSR cancelled not as described return requests are apparently still counting against sellers for deranking purposes. Doesn't exact leave with you confidence, especially given eBay's reliance on third party developers.
The one thing about ebay is it seems like when you have an issue they tend to cluster. I liken it to catching the flu. Speaking of taxes, back to doing that myself. So fun scanning all these receipts!

Most days, it's just list, re-list, sell similar; list, re-list, sell similar ..... no selling or packaging involved.

I'm in a bit of a slump for sales this week as well. On the bright side, it allows me to redirect my efforts into paperwork, paperwork, paperwork. And spend more undivided time with the kids who are home from school on Spring Break.

Some days you wish you never got out of bed, lol.
You would think the CSR could apply the discount rather than going through the cancellation motions.
Question for the weekly chat?

Ugghhh got another cancellation request today!
This time buyer says the purchase must have happened when they put their phone back in their pocket.....
Hopefully the bots aren't thinking somethings up!!!
