Stallion Express items Not scanned by USPS

Due to the strike we decided to try Stallion Express. Four parcels were posted using USPS, fully insured by both USPS & Stallion as well as Signature Confirmation.

It has been 6 days and they show as being recieved in the USA by Stallion but not by USPS.

It's a lot of money, and I'm extremely concerned. I have three more parcels requiring posting tomorrow and I don't want to send them out until I know what's going on.

Has anyone had this happen? What is going on? And how have people handled this?

Do you get any additional tracking information on Parcelsapp?

An update: The scan time for being in the states is the same time we dropped them off in Canada. We had a Dr's appmt and dropped them off on our way to another store near by. There is a trail of receipts to prove the items could not have been in the states at the time they show.

Sometimes the location of a scan is the location of where the tracking event was recorded rather than the item's location.  In the case of your items, the tracking information was recorded at Stallion's hub in Sanborn.

Are the tracking numbers you've received from Stallion USPS tracking numbers or do they work with just Stallion?  One of the reasons I suggested checking Parcelsapp is because sometimes if there's a second number that will be used when another carrier takes over shipping the item, that number will be referenced on the Parcelsapp tracking page somewhere on a sidebar.  Does the Parcelsapp page show the final destination for the items anywhere?  What carrier or carriers is/are identified on the Parcelsapp tracking page?

Usually getting stuff to Sanborn and then handed over to USPS is very fast and efficient. The  packages I droped off at Stallion on Tuesday have been moving slowly but this comes as no suprise, the snow condition in various parts of the Niagara Frontier have been really bad, in some areras they have had up to 4 feet of snow on Sunday and then more snow on Wednesday.

I had dropped off shipments for USPS and UPS on Tuesday, the UPS ones were delayed one day getting across the border but have been handed over to UPS, the USPS shipments are delayed one day as well, it's possible that USPS does actually have them but may not be giving acceptance scans on a timely basis due to combination of super high Black Friday/Cyber Monday volume and the snow conditions on top.

I'm in Toronto and not far from Lake Ontario, so far in the past week we have had a total of less than 1cm so everything is fine right here, any area that is subject to lake effect snow is a mess at the moment.

This situation occurs once or twice every winter.

USPS tracking number are just that, Stallion has their own internal reference numbers as well but the actual tracking is always the one obtained from the carrier when you purchase the label.

For those that care about timely scans for eBays on time shipping, any scan will do including the recieved by Stallion scan that shows shortly after you drop off, you do not need the USPS acceptance scan.

Yes, the item was scanned at the drop in Niagara, Ontario but shows up as being scanned in at Sanborn, New York. That worries me less than the item not showing as being at the USPS 3 days later.

And the parcels show up on Parcelsapp as being USPS / DHL eCommerce. The destinations are accurate.

This is obviously a first using these carriers so I'm extra paranoid, lol. Sales are doing well but I hesitate to keep putting parcels into the service due to this limbo. If they would scan in we have a bunch at the door and we could reopen ourselves for full business again. *le sigh*

4 feet on our side of the border? yikes. We managed a light festive dusting the past couple of days here in Niagara but aren't along the lakefront so must have missed out on all the fun stuff.

Does yours scan in separately in Toronto and then in the States? *le sigh* It happanes with CPC every so often but we've always found the USPS good on their scanning (then again we used to drive it over the border ourselves before the covid; those were the days).

Yes, I just want to be sure they are on route and not lost somewhere before I hand them another few hundred worth of shipments.

I've been through this, I've used Stallion Express and Chit Chats.

Are you saying ALL the items shipped at that time are not scanned? One possibility is the mailbag was passed on without a scan (with all your packages in it), an at some point it will resurface and they'll all get scanned. This happened to me once when my mailbag boarded a truck in NY and wound up in LA (even the packages for the East Coast).

Another thing that can happen if it's just a few packages, is a big package was on top of a little package, and it will at some point get scanned. They can potentially make their way through the mail network without a scan until they're out for delivery or delivered.

I dropped a bunch of packages off on Dec 2 and the ones that are letter mail were not tendered to USPS (as per Stallion's portal). I'm wondering if people are rushing to get things shipped steps are being skipped...

Anyway what happened to you has happened to me before, and everything worked out.

What branch did you use? My letters on Dec 2 (dropped off that date) are in the same boat. They were scanned as received in Kitchener but there were no further scans in Mississauga (as received or tendered to USPS).

I've given them around 700 shipments since I started using them in April (when Chit Chats closed all the branches that were near me). They've only actually lost one where it was their fault. The agent at the branch where I dropped off helped me escalate that for a supervisor to look into and I got an insurance payout.

Time to check your tracking (maybe), the USPS packages I dropped off on Tuesday.......

Basically running one day behind presuming they leave Rochester overnight (this one is Media Mail so it could be a bit slower although in recent months my Media Mail is moving through Rochester at the same speed as GA.

The shipping shows more scans over the evening and night. So progress maybe. Just extra paranoid as this is first time with a new company. Seeing variables from others helps alleviate the anxiety.

St. Catharines, it looks like a drop on their way over the border.

Ha, it would be our package that was blocking the little packages, the largest one we've shipped out in a while! It was tumbling over their little baskets.

As noted below there have been some updates. While not yet scanned at the USPS it theoretically is on its way or awaiting their scan as this is being typed. 🤞 The movement is encouraging as I'd love to get the other packages in the mail this am.

I went to the Kitchener branch today (since I work in Waterloo, but live quite a bit further away), and the agent there said Mississauga is way behind in processing. I contacted customer service and they said they are pushing parcels through as quickly as possible and hoped to be caught up processing by Sunday.

Just to update and close-out. The packages were delayed for whatever reason but are now scanned in and on their way. More packages have since been dropped off. Yay! Glad to hear about them through these forums or I'd never have trusted them, even if I had found them out on the internet.
