Strange view totals

I was checking the views on my listing yesterday. I saw that a crochet craft pattern that has been listed for over 6 months, and had about 12-15 views before (don't remember the exact number) was now at 75 views! By evening it was up to  90 and is now at 100. This is not a revised listing, not much interest, just 2 watchers. I found 2 other listings, again older ones that suddenly have high views recorded, over 40 each. Anyone else seeing this?

I can see no reason why any of these would suddenly have such a huge amount of views when they have been listed for a long time with very few.

One never knows what's happening out there, I've seen the same thing.

My opinions:

-a very interested potential buyer that has to see it a LOT of times (I have no idea why but I truly think this has been the case for me as it coincides with a number of questions from a potential buyer on same lot)

-something in Googleland, or eBay, or a 3rd party company (that refers people to ebay lots) is highlighting your item

-something causes a small burst of views making the automagic search BOTs think you've got something very special so they keep putting it in front of more people which feeds the frenzy

-a glitch, gotta be something not working properly on any given day it seems!

Are the views from eBay or external?

I have a couple of listings which from time to time get an enormous number of external views. I can only guess why, it might be because it gets mentioned somewhere online which leads to a bunch of clicks.

They are from eBay. My first thought was that maybe I had made a mistage on the percentage of promotions, but it was as 2% like all my listings. I cannot see how someone would keep looking at the same listings.
