Strike Three: Unable to reinstate the Promotional Offer

** Bleep** Everytime I call Ebay to ask for some leeway to benefit a seller, I get denied.  What is the point of providing services and resolutions for the seller who basically makes you  the money?

Case and point. I got rolled in a car accident and ended up in the hospital so I could not activate the Promotional offer for 50% discount off subscription.   I missed it a few hours. I went as for as making the request to the whoever was managing the billing department.  As usual, I was denied.

I’m sorry to hear of your misfortune with the accident and hospital.

What made you think eBay would rewrite the rules for you? Those Special Arrangements are for multi-million dollar clients with accounts in generally good standing.

Being hospitlaized is a very qualifuying, mitigating circumstance that should give me some wiggle room to ask.  tis too bad, since ebay does not want to give an any incentive to continue with them

Yes, I'd start to compose one but I don't think I'd be winning any friends if I shared that.

dirt road, car load

stuff to sell, this is hell

rolled it, had a fit

all my faberge eggs! Smashed

along with my femur

can't catch no breaks

except my legs

In truth, the OP has my sympathy for the wreck. Been there, done that, would not recommend it.

I am sorry to hear about your accident, I hope you are okay now. The older we get, the chances that something will happen to us increases more and more.

That said, we all should have a back-up plan, or someone who can look after our affairs when something does happen. Whether it is our spouse, son/daughter, or a friend we can trust.

I have found ebay to be more forgiving than the other sites in a few areas, the key is to ship as described or better goods asap, properly packaged and letting the buyer know when to expect it in the mail.

You didn't say whether you had sales while you were in the hospital, hopefully you were able to have them(if any) sent. To accept a promotion is usually one click once signed on, I would be kicking myself, for not getting someone to do it for me.

You do have my sympathy, we all should try to save as much money on listing fees as possible.

Lastly, if you missed a weekly special at your grocery store, would you get upset(at them) when they would not honour the price after the time was up?
