Suggested Changes to MyEbay Account Activity Page

Hi Sellers,

Not sure if this is the right place to post a suggestion but may help in clarifying Sellers Fees that are listed on the MyEbay Account Activity Page.

So I recently sold some items and saw the Final Value Fees were more than 10% of the item sale price for the category of items I was selling not realizing the Final Value Fees were including applicable GST/HST until talking to customer support for the explanation.

I know it says at the bottom of the page "The above amount includes Canada GST/HST or QST where applicable" but I think the GST/HST charge should only appear on your invoice, and it should only show the Final Value Fee and say "Total Fees before tax" on the MyEbay Account Activity Page to avoid any confusion. Like anywhere else you make a purchase the tax does not appear until you are invoiced.

It displays with the taxes included before you complete a listing prior to clicking accept if you have gone over your allotment of free listings. (Split again like you were saying on your actual invoice). It's a similar type of issue displayed in the Seller's Hub where seller's total sales include shipping. You don't see the actual split until you click on the icon and it gives you the breakdown. For most sellers Shipping is NOT profit. It's considered revenue for eBay because of the final value fees being paid on the shipping amount also. This was something that got changed with the introduction of the Sellers Hub and does not seem to be going away although it has been requested.

I don't disagree but eBay accounting/billing systems  (and PayPal too while eBay controlled them) have always been (to be polite) "funky". I don't expect it will ever change but given that the bottom line is correct I'm not sure I care.
