Just saw the news headline. Probably because of pandamonium at the border and with US Customs.
So some sort of respite for us.

As before, when i posted that de minimus was going away and tarifffs were going to be charged there is no link to post. It was a headline on CBC. De minimus is of minor importance to most people so it will take time for the news to become more available.
But this is almost certainly true. I don't know any details however. They will come to light later today, no doubt.
Edit. Google it, there are links out the wazooo. 🙂

Well they better get on it. I am sure it will change again soon!
Everyone has been running around in circles losing their accounts and account standing, just for it all to go back to the way it always was. 3 different entry policies in 3 days.
US Department of Chaos...Who would you like to speak to? DT? If you care to hold there will be a tariff applied after your call. To simplify things we've decided to apply tariffs to everything.

devon@ebay Just wondering if eBay could give us seller protections for this debacle at the border. There have been 3 different entry policies in 3 days at the border. Different ports of entry are enforcing different policies. I am concerned that many of our eBay accounts will fall below standard.
As of a few hours ago, the latest executive order has reversed all import policies back to the previous administration's policies (which was originally implemented by the current administration).

So are HTS and CoO codes still necessary? It seems to me they are what is causing the chaos at the border, not the 800 de minimus being eliminated, and that those are what need to go for now until everyone has a chance to adjust their systems for shipping to the US, and a clear start date is given, with advanced notice.

HS codes, or Harmonized System codes, have been required for international shipping since 1988 when the World Customs Organization (WCO) adopted the Harmonized System as a standardized classification system for traded goods across the globe; essentially, most countries began using HS codes for international shipping around this time.
