What browser are you using? It might be worth trying another.
Starting from the main ebay.ca page and requesting the desktop site on that page, I am able to load the desktop site version of the page and -- as long as I open links in the same browser tab -- I can navigate throughout the site including the messages inbox using Chrome or Firefox on my old Motorola E4 (Android 7.1.1).

Are you able to read your messages if you use the eBay app?
Or are you able to read your messages using a browser if you first request the desktop site version of the page?
Instructions for requesting the desktop site version of the page in your browser can be found on the US site here:
If you go to ebay.ca and request the desktop site version of the page, and then open links in the same browser tab, everything in that browser tab should stay in desktop mode.
Not sure why your messages are not loading in mobile site mode -- they seem to be loading on m.ebay.ca for me.

Hi @zee-chan-jpn-books - thanks for giving me a holler on this, it's definitely frustrating.
Will you let me know what mobile device, OS and OS version you're using? The only time I've heard of the looping error occurring is for browsers that are no longer supported (which is fairly rare).

I don't have the eBay app and I don't plan to install it. But using the browser to launch desktop mode worked, replied to another message with it today. Thanks for the suggestion!

You are most welcome -- glad to hear that worked!

Sadly this "browser desktop mode" workaround no longer works!! The buyer will have to wait till I get to a computer in the evening. Funny I can use the board but not reply to buyer messages.
This is the error message I got when I tried browser desktop mode.. and my phone is a 2019 Samsung A70. Not that old!
The eBay mobile website is no longer supported on this device. Access all your eBay activity from your desktop or a supported Apple, Android or Blackberry mobile device.

Re; open in desktop mode.
Maybe try flipping your phone around so you are holding it in landscape orientation, then try opening the page again. I've noticed the extra screen width gained by orientating the screen to landscape sometimes influences whether I get desktop or mobile view.
Another option would be to logon to Seller Hub ... there is not a mobile version available, only desktop view, so the full Seller Hub desktop experience is always available even on a small cell phone.
From there you could try replying from the message "notification" provided there or if applicable from the Order's "contact buyer" link.
This may not help with replying to messages though as Messages is not contained within Hub, just linked to.
Imo most of the native Samsung apps are not so great. I'm also on Samsung Android 10 ... Edge and Chrome work very well with ebay, I doubt the native Samsung browser is very high on ebay's "must work with" list.

Thanks guys! I turned to landscape mode and went to desktop mode from eBay.ca homepage and it worked!! And yes I was using the default Samsung Internet.
Too bad I could only click one post as solution. I wanted to click both of your posts =(
