Where have all the buyers gone? Black Friday has come & gone without any sales. I usually do well around this time of year selling vintage jewelry. But not this year. I have tried all the things that eBay said would help us sellers. Promoted listings. No success. Sending offers to watchers. Very limited success. I am sure the added tax for US buyers doesn't help either.

The Internet Sales taxes are a shock to a lot of occasional buyers.
But they are being charged by every online Marketplace Faciliator, including AZ , etsy, PoshMark, AliBaba, Wish, Wayfair. And the larger companies, like WalMart have been adding sales taxes, where appropriate, for years.
We'll see if there is any commentary after Cyber Monday in the financial papers (Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, etc).
At least eBayCanada advertised this year about Small Business Saturday. This seems to be something annoying our US counterparts. (Annoyed US sellers? It must be Saturday.)

So Cyber Monday has come & gone with no sales. I am inundated with local sales in flyers & through e-mail but it doesn't seem to factor into online shopping on eBay anymore. I have sold more things locally on Craigslist than eBay lately. Anyone else have a good weekend of sales on eBay, or all most of us in the same boat? I know the stamp & coin market seems to do well throughout the year.

Not sure about all but maybe most (say 95% +-) of the buyers are sellers waiting patiently for a mystery coupon to arrive....Before it magically self destructs.

The good old days of eBay/the eBay of yesteryear is long gone; as are many of the good long time buyers and sellers...
Welcome to the new eBay...

I am still waiting for my coupons too. Nothing showed up in my Buying Summary page. Would like to use the coupons to buy a few things.

I had a normal weekend including a postage sale to an eBay seller and an enquiry about postage from another.
I believe those to be important. I don't see most of my postage customers on the Boards. My guess is that they are too busy selling and shipping.

My last week has been awesome.
Finally some nice large sales.
Interestingly, a number of very old items sold (despite my experimental promoted listings being finished by then).
Oddly high number of sales large enough to require tracking to the likes of India, Lebanon,Thailand which takes a lot of postage! I'm beginning to suspect I'm one of a shrinking list of sellers who will ship to these countries. Not sure if that is good or bad.
The sad part is as is always the case, I really don't know what caused this wee burst in sales, I really wish I did know so I could make it continue!

Many of my most recent buyers have very low feedback... very new to eBay...
and then several have zero feedback ... very very new to eBay.
A seller's sales records depends on what is being sold, and the seller's standing on eBay.
Always adding new inventory to the store on eBay.
A seller must constantly work and rework the inventory on eBay..
My understanding of success on eBay is....
Knowing what NOT to do.
