The scanner was run on two listings...
The only thing identified as Active Content was the .......Auctiva Scrolling Gallery.
Something I never asked for and something that was only recently added to all listings.....
and if I remember... I could have opted out of this happening...
Except for the scrolling gallery my listings are free of Active Content

This scanner should be a great help for all who want to know...

It appears that ..
(1) You can view the original listing.
(2) You can view the modified listing.... without the Active content..
(3) You can revise the listing as per the TAB at the upper right corner of the page.
The revise option was not tested.

Cool, I never knew Shipscript had that tool! I ran a scan on one of my listings, and (of course) it told me that my showcase was active content. Thanks for the link!

I also use Auctiva. So does that mean we have to dump the scrolling gallery? I would have thought that Auctiva would have commented on this by now/
Yes, this will probably you will have to get rid of Auctiva.
I am also surprised that none of the scrolling gallery suppliers have not said anything yet. This new announcement is going to make messes for all people that provide "active content" for sellers.

Auctiva knows about what is in this Seller Update
Auctiva is working with eBay to make an adjustment.
The word is that Auctiva will work something out to correct the problem.
There is a discussion on Auctiva about this.
Lots of time to make adjustments.....Wait for the appropriate announcement from Auctiva ....

Now is the time to gain an understanding of the reality of the spring Update.
Find out what has to be done...
There is lots of time to make the appropriate changes...
Understanding Active Content is a part of the process..
Auctiva will make the appropriate adjustment....

Auctiva may already has a new Scrolling Gallery without Active content.

The following is Auctiva's response to a question about the Scrolling Gallery on Auctiva.
We’re in close contact with eBay regarding the potential changes relating to active content planned for Spring of 2017 and will remain in contact with them regarding any updates they share to make sure our listing tools align with their goals.
At present, we do not have sufficient detail regarding the technical implementation on the eBay side to have a clear explanation of the potential impact this may have on our customers, but it is our intention to continue to provide such tools once changes have been implemented on eBay. It is our goal to make any potential adjustments in advance of the Spring 2017 deadline in order to make this update as smooth as possible for our sellers.
We will provide updates to our sellers regarding this as more information becomes available.

This listing scanner was used with several listings.
One can see how a listing gets modified.... what gets removed.
With Auctiva it is the scrolling gallery that gets removed....
I moved to Auctiva at the beginning of September 2015.
Subsequent to this, the scrolling gallery was added to all of my listings.
The Auctiva site was checked and it is possible for Auctiva to remove all scrolling galleries if requested to do so by filing a support case.
There is no hurry to do so.
Eventually eBay may take this listing scanner and extend it such that many listings can be modified... all at once.
Something similar to the Migration tool for changing US dollars to Canadian dollars... effectively changing things with a "single" switch.....

This scanner is able to detect all types of Active Content in a listing.
My listings were simple, and without Active Content..... until I moved to Auctiva
Once the scanner is adapted to do a bulk edit... it will serve well on eBay.....

Cumos, why did you post 6 times in a row? Doesn't that seem like a lot?

As I learned something new I added that new information to this discussion.
Each reply is something new .......
Everything is not squeezed into one post to this discussion, and then difficult to read, if it were in one reply...
---------------------------------------------------------------
As time passes Auctiva should come up with an adjustment in how the scrolling gallery is programmed to be operational in each listing, and not classified as active content.
Removal of the active component in the programming might be possible, and the scrolling gallery would not be viewed as active content by this scanner......
As far as I am concerned I will ask Auctiva to delete the scrolling gallery both from listings submitted after I started using Auctiva in September of 2015,
and in all of my listings that were already on eBay.
Auctiva had added the scrolling gallery to all of my listings on eBay that were added to eBay before September 2015.
It appears that the Active Content Scanner noted in this discussion can be used to modify the listing and then revise the listing such that the active content has been removed one listing at a time.
Removal of Active Content as a Bulk Edit...of many listings at once, is one step away from removing active content from all listings quite quickly ...

Dear all,
I have a problem using Active Content Scanner (link http://www.isdntek.com/ebaytools/ActiveContentSandbox.htm). My location is in Indonesia. I have tried many times, but not working.
There were some script codes when I opened the web (like the picture attached).
Is there any ways so I can use the tools.
Thank you

I just tried using it with a couple of your item numbers and the tool worked. I have no idea why it didn't work for you. It shouldn't matter where you are located since you are using the US site.
There is also a tool where you enter your eBay id and it scans all of your listings at once. When I used it with your id I didn't see active content but you should check for yourself.

If you are still having problems you can ask your question in the technical issues forum on the US site as the person who set up the tool often reads that board.

I sent a private message to eBay member shipscript who wrote and runs the Active Content Scanner about your issue. shipscript replied that there was a server overload issue this morning and that it was fixed later. Most likely you accessed her tool during this outage.
