eBay Entices Sellers to Opt In to Managed Returns

eBay is running an invitation-only promotion to entice sellers to use Managed Returns. The program lets buyers initiate returns directly from their My eBay account pages rather than having to contact the seller first. Once a seller has opted into the new managed returns process, their buyers are permitted to return an item for any reason - including a change of mind.

The promotion offers sellers 10% off their applicable Final Value Fee for qualified listings sold during the promotion period and is only for invited sellers not already opted in to the program.

PS - I did not received the invitation. Not that it matters as I have very few returns.

eBay Entices Sellers to Opt In to Managed Returns

Over on the .com boards some of the sellers are complaining because they have opted in and they ship using FCI and ebay is sending pre-printed Priority labels to buyers when they return. That's like sellers sending the item by Letterpost and ebay having it returned by Tracked Pkt. and this is very costly to the seller because ebay charges the seller for the labels! Sellers are opting out fast when this happens.

Well that doesn't sound like such a great deal anyway.  I would hate for customers to return something to me just because they changed thier mind, I would be out my original shipping cost, since you have to refund the buyer price plus original shipping cost.
