Can anyone confirm that the maximum charge from eBay for selling an item is $250 max?

What are you planning on selling that this level of fee concerns you? Doing the math, it suggest you want to sell a widget valued at more than $2500. I would be less concerned about fees and more concerned about the safety of the transaction.

I hope you understand that with your limited selling experience on eBay, payment will most likely be held by PayPal for twenty-one days although you have to ship immediately to the buyer.

I know you know, not the issue. I am wondering as to the OP's intentions. $8800 for a ring "worth" $12400? Second tier retail is about 50%, asking, of appraised value.

By looking at your listings I can see you are looking for trouble trying to sell a $7800 ring worldwide. You need to study the situation more before you get burned big time.
